I thought his response to defunding the police would have been more aggressive
I think one point needs to be corrected: we can't destroy this planet; however, we are destroying its ability to host humans.
When it comes to the police, the most important thing shouldn't be defunding it; it should be ending qualified immunity and civil asset forfeiture. These are the two legal tools that place cops above other civilians. The second thing that should happen is institute nationwide policing standards that will be periodically reevaluated by a national board; make it possible for that board to award and revoke officer licenses to make sure that cops with a history of misconduct and misuse of their equipment don't get hired somewhere else. Defunding the police without addressing the above doesnt do much to solve the issue of police misconduct IMO.
