***Official Political Discussion Thread***

They will never admit it, but this totally exposes the NRA/gun nuts. They will never be able to make the argument that there purpose is to have the ability to over throw a tyrannical government ever again. We were there and they chose the side of tyranny.

LOL at “Don’t Tread On Me.”

I consumed a fair amount of alcohol last night.

what I mean to say was #Trump2060

It’s taking protests, abuse of power by cops, people getting hurt, and other disgusting variables for this awful, incompetent government to finally realize that there’s a BIG PROBLEM? Like it’s already 2020 and the Marines JUST REALIZING that the Confederate flag devalues their “core values” like wtf

Then you have people like Roger Goodell; apologizing because deep down he knows it’ll hurt his pockets if he continues to be ignorant about social/racial issues plaguing his league, and then to have NFL’s social media team go behind his back and gather black athletes to raise awareness goes to show his passiveness.

It was a humbling experience to go and cover 5 Black Lives Matter protests this past week in my area, and I have to admit that it was one of the best weeks ever in my career and I’m THANKFUL because of it. We have a long way to go in terms of how we treat others, especially our African-American brothers and sisters, and other people of color. We need do our part of educating ourselves more and help MORE however we can because it begins with US.

Happy Sunday yall, and BLACK LIVES MATTER!

I am a black man that is a progressive, and in the year 2020, my black *** excited to vote for Joe ****ing Biden to become president

Trump pushing people to do and think **** they never thought they would.

My hairline couldn't make it through Trump's first term, I don't think my heart gonna be able make it through a 2nd.

Dis mother****er needs to GO!

I don’t even like Joe Budden, but I can’t wait to vote for Joe Biden.

someone come give us freedom.
One of the best things that I've seen in the coverage (and y'all may have discussed this in here as well) was some on-the-ground reporter who has worked a lot abroad in war zones, etc. asking, "How would I report on this if it were not the U.S.?"

And then he gave these different examples of how things would be framed in ways that would (correctly) paint government officials and police forces in terms of authoritarianism, wanton violence against civilians, widespread violations of free speech and assembly, etc. And all of this was the government's response to completely justified protests over agents of the state killing an unarmed civilian in broad daylight and facing no criminal charges for the murder (early on).

But when these same dynamics occur domestically, we get basically some "both-sides" ********. I mean, we've even had journalists arrested, teargassed, shot with rubber bullets, etc. Just imagine if this was the scene in Argentina or Saudi Arabia—to say nothing of Venezuela or Iran.

exactly, we are that country that has “no freedom” that we always hear about. It’s such a joke to me that we go around policing the world and telling people how they should run their country when ours is a 3rd world country parading around as the best in the world because certain people make money.

So can Colin Powell and if George W endorses Biden, will it cause more Republicans to speak out

Doubt it

Powell has endorsed Dems for president for the last three elections. At this point Republicans consider him a Democrat.

Majority Republicans don't really give a **** about Bush W. They can't even bring him out on the campaign trail like the Dems can do with Obama. Their electoral fate is still tied to Trump, so they gonna rock with Trump until the wheels fall off.
