***Official Political Discussion Thread***

@ninjahoodIm sure this has been asked a million times but I've never seen it asked I've only watched as folks clown about it but....I want to ask.

How can you speak so eloquently and show off an extensive vocabulary and replace the, this, you or that with da, dis, ya and dat?

I mean, that's horrible for me to read. People who know you may read you but you may have some powerful ideas to pass on and a lot of people may miss a good thing simply because it makes them feel dumb just by reading it.

Accents and dialect is one thing but, why do you do this when typing or writing?

No Shade or disrespect, for real, do you mind explaining?

I just don't get how anyone can say systemic racism and white supremacy are nothing more than a liberal talking points. Ive heard other people deny these things exist and are prevalent but those people intentionally and sometimes unintentionally pigeonhole "racism" to whats literally in the dictionary, and won't see white supremacy as anything other neo nazis, skin heads and kkk. So they essentially funnel down these broad complex ideas to something thats easy to deny the existence of. Its alot easier to dismiss the idea that neo nazis and skin heads are running this country, than the idea of white supremacy as a system. but im almost positive that ninja knows exactly what is being defined when the term "systemic racism" is used but still denies that its existence as anything more than identity politics. I dont get it. Like i said There are definitely economic, societal, professional, and educational disadvantages that disproportionately impact people of color. Thats statically factual.

He bounced, let's not give him reason to comeback.

Mike Pence huh...

Someone check on Christie please :lol
Any confirmation yet?

Christie is going to have his gastric band released and then go on the ultimate bender by ordering himself a couple dozens XL pizzas, 3 gallons of cookie & cream ice cream, and a tub of mayonnaise.

Christie in 24 hours:
700

I actually love the use of "da".

Its funny on its own, it's funny to use to mock, and at da same time just real.

Nice to see Trump pandering to the far right with the Pence pick. Because he has been really ignoring them throughout he launched his campaign. :lol

Christie probably on suicide watch, but I have a feeling he was aiming for the Attorney General spot away. He likes to bully people, so that's the perfect job for him

lol thats nothing

@sckid20

Would you agree with these statements?
Oliver's commentary is partially invalid as he is viewing the Philippine political climate through the philosophies of established Western governments. His perspectives would be more relevant if Trump was taking over a developing economic system ravaged by blatant criminal corruption at the highest levels, with no systemic incentives in place to support the well-beings of its lower socioeconomic classes. The Philippines does not have any enforceable social systems (i.e. social security, UI, medicare) to support its lower class citizens, making illicit activities a necessity for survival for a significant portion of its citizens. Duterte's election is the natural byproduct of a disenfranchised voting public who have grown weary of political inaction by those elected to power using empty promises. An elected official willing to demonstrate action and take risks publicly would thwart many concerns that the voting public has historically had- regardless of the politician's political beliefs or the nature of the actions themselves. Passivity and apathy are the underlying issues in corrupt developing political systems that will inherently allow aggressive positions to establish themselves.
People voted for Dueterte not because of those rape jokes but because he may be the the strongman capable of cleaning up the corrupt government and crime ridden society that has been allowed to fester for the last five decades. Filipinos judge their leaders on how ballsy, candid and deliberate they are. The Philippines has had its share of Rhodes scholars and Harvard graduates while the country turns into a Juarez-like drug state where political dynasties operate like crime syndicates. While the world is understandably aghast at how raw and buffoonish this guy is, they have to understand the society that has voted him in. Filipinos have faith in their institutions enough that they can remove his guy from office if he fails his job. The US democratic institutions are far worse than the Philippines' own in that they cannot even have clean democratic primaries.

Christie will be fine, Pence isnt taking his position under Trump's desk.

Dueterte is an extreme example of why people turn to far right loons. They get desperate and think an authoratatize president can rid them of their major problem without doing major damage elsewhere.

And of course, we can always vote him out.

That is a horrible excuse to endulge in bigotry. It never works out like that.

He has also been clearly linked to death squads. Who's to say he wouldn't use them to suppress opposition? The man has been in a position of power for over 20 years. He doesn't seem like the type to willingly vacate his position should the public turn against him

Forgot where I saw the poll, but in two states (I forget which), Trump, unsurprisingly, has 0% of the black vote. Zero.

Does anyone know what % of the black vote Romney and McCain got when they were running for president?
