Donald Trump and his allies deserve to be laughed at and berated everywhere they go, be it at a beltway eatery or at the UN. However, the people at the UN who did the laughing were a bunch of German neoliberal ghouls who also should never be anywhere near political power either.
This running trope of “the world is laughing at [which ever president I don’t like]” is Eurocentric and not very indicative of a predident’s ability. Case and point, outside of the center right neoliberal governments in most of Western Europe, Donald Trump is actually pretty popular. He has an affinity with the reactionary masses, the reactionary petite bourgeoisie and the authoritarian leaders who rule much of the World. From Hungary to the Phillipines, fascism and nationalism are winning and the neoliberal managerial class in New York and Brussels and Frankfurt haven’t helped at making the long standing liberal order of the world seem especially appealing for most human beings on the face of the earth.

Michael Moore always finds a way to kill all of his credibility in every documentary he makes even though the broad message of every documentary is true.
