***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Still think it's a stretch, but as I did yesterday, I crossed my arms and tried out the hand position myself. My initial thought was, this feels comfortable and something a person, who was forced to sit still for an extended... but then the realization struck me as a firm young Antifa fist and I realized, in the brief moments I had rested my arm on my other arm and formed, what could be perceived as a secret supremacist hand sign, I, myself, had become a Nazi too and I instantaneously hit myself in the face with my own fist.

For those in the Justice Dem-DSA-Our Revolution orbit, the original plan was to to cultivate talent and political capital in State legislative and municipal elections and later on move into Congressional and State wide races in big way.

It's amazing to see people like Pressley, Ocasion-Cortez, Tlaib, Myer et al. boldly moving up our timetable. These seemingly unlikely and very left leaning nominees in 2018 will change peoples' calculus in 2020. If you're a young activist or organizer and you feel comfortable in front of a camera, why not run for Congress in your deep blue district? The DNC and DCCC are much weaker than they seemed in 2016. There is likely to be another blue wave in 2020 so even merely democratic leaning districts will be lay ups. If you don't get the nomination for Governor or Congress, you still would have the name ID and small dollar fundraising capacity to win a state legislative or municipal election in 2022 and come back to compete for State wide or national office in 2024 which still a great career trajectory for a politician born in the '80's or '90's.

If you've been a lazy party functionary just coasting in a deep blue district, you'll be like Ralph Wiggum alone on a bus in 2020. Even very good and progressive but not JusDem, OurRev or DSA Democratic incumbents might look around in 2020 and realize "I'm in danger" as some energetic late 20's to early 40's aged women of color is knocking on doors and closing the gap in the polls leading up to your primary day.

The Don had some wise words again, this time during a WH interview and comments regarding protests against Kavanaugh:

“I don’t know why they don’t take care of a situation like that,” Trump said. “I think it’s embarrassing for the country to allow protesters. You don’t even know what side the protesters are on.”
He added: “In the old days, we used to throw them out. Today, I guess they just keep screaming.”
