“For the master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house. They may allow us to temporarily beat him at his own game, but they will never enable us to bring about genuine change." - Audre Lorde

Yeah I can't rock with that line of thinking.

There is a lot of truth to this comment. Relying on the 2A to oppose White Supremacy is a lost cause because through the modification of the law (CA gun ban to counter the Black Panthers) or ignorance of it (not guilty verdicts in the numerous cases of massacres of Black gun ownership defending their property), minority gun ownership can be rendered essentially null and void.
It makes no sense to be a minority and support a "right" that you will never fully enjoy even though you, as an American, are meant to enjoy it to the fullest.

Y'all think these gun-toting morons will cry on Killer Mike's grave if he ever became victim of gun violence? They'd summarize his life to that of a "gangsta rapper" and move on.

If You really feel like you have no chance to combat white supremacy in this country then what's the point of voting or fighting for any rights?

How the hell did you get that from his post. Geez

He clearly is speaking about relying on the 2nd amendment.

Stop acting like if a black person does not want to stop it out with white supremacists, if they dont eant it toncome to that, they somehow are not up for fighting white supremacy.

Stop being obtuse famb, and stop acting like if a black person does not want to stop it out with white supremacists, they somehow are not up for fighting white supremacy.

Guns alone are not going to stop white supremacy but when it comes down to the get down I would rather we have them than not.

Like I said if you could guaranteed me those "gun-toting morons" wouldn't have them then I'd give mines up but that's impossible.

I'd recommend people give this book a read. It delves into the history of Black gun ownership and instances of "shooting it out" with white supremacist.

Listen I don't trust anyone who tells me not to exercise the rights the dominant society has, covets and my ancestors died for me to have.

I wish Killer Mike didn't go on NRATV but where was this same energy when Kaepernick told us it was pointless to vote and we can't vote our way out of oppression?

For ****s sake, no one in here is telling you that.

You are just be obtuse

And let me remind you want to play the "ancestors" card that when the 2nd amendment was ratified your ancestors were considered property, not people.

So was the 1st but I'm not sure what your point is.

Mike has really spent the last 13 hours on twitter replying to every Tom, **** and Harry that had an issue with his interview. He doesnt even see how it was a bad idea.

First my point is that you are not taking time to comprehending the arguments being made, cherry picking stuff to respond to, and deflecting.

Second, I am telling you stop acting like the 2nd amendment is some achievement and so important to the black struggle. The Constitution is a great document but not perfect, and was written without the input or real concern for your ancestors.

So the right to bear arms has not impacted the pursuit of equality for Black people in this country or is it not important now?

I typed up a detailed answer, but figured it was pointless because you will just cherry pick and deflect.

It really feels like I am debating Ninja right now. You are employing nearly all of his rhetorical tricks

You said you were going to stop responding 4 hours ago yet here we are.

You don't understand that I'm not debating you or anyone else on here. I post my opinions and read other peoples. I think your heart in the right place even when I disagree with you.

This **** ain't that serious.

if second amendment people want me to take them seriously, every argument they make needs to start with, "first we need to arm minorities, especially African Americans, to the teeth so that they can protect themselves from white terrorists and from tyrannical and racist government forces."

then we could discuss in good faith.

short of that any discussion is pointless.

edit: basically just paraphrasing this post below. point is, nearly every argument I've heard from pro-gun people is ********. they claim it's about the Constitution and protecting ourselves but it's all just transparent hypocritical ********.

Dude you are debating, because you are responding to post an disagreeing, and puting forward an opposing argument. That is a debate, nothing wrong with that. I swear it weird to me how dudes talk issue when their viewpoints are challenged.

Of course the topic is serious but conversation itself is not that serious. This is a discussion forum. I'm telling you that not productive discussion can't happen with you because you deflect so much and don't respond to the actual point being made.

Plus if you wanna play the "it is not that serious" card may I remind you that whenever dudes start advocating for gun control, you show up and take issue. That **** ain't serious.
