They’re failing at understanding actual “basic economics.”

Gains from trade is one of the few thing every economist agrees upon.

Throw in the US’ status as the minter of the planet’s reserve currency and its status as a net importer, tariffs will make these people much poorer.

But for its first five, disgraceful, pro-eugenics minutes, Idiocracy would be a documentary.

Many are failing at basic economics and civics. What they learn off their timeline is all they need to 'sound' intelligent.

On this one, Trump has somewhat of a point.

By dropping nuclear power, Germany made itself more dependent on Russian natural gas exports.

Either one of two things is true, and neither are especially flattering for Germany.

One, Germany allowed itself, knowingly or unknowingly, to be made weaker in the face of Russia, a country that they claim is an existential threat.

Two, Russia is not an existential threat but Germany says it is to promote weapons sales and/or to appease the US.

Either way, Germany doesn’t come off looking very good and they certainly do not come off as the new “Leader of the Free World.”

Joe Biden once had a great line about Rudy Giuliani “There’s only three things he mentions in a sentence; a noun, a verb and 9/11.”

Kamala needs to come out and remix it if they have another debate, Donald Trump, there’s only three things he mentions in a sentence; Donald Trump, a lie and a bigger lie. If words come out of his mouth, just know, it’s a lie.”

That will be the sound bite that remains and it will short circuit him just like the crowd size comment.

I feel like if there’s a second debate, Harris’ opening or closing statements should be an exercise in micro targeting the most intermarginal parts of Trump’s coalition or potential coalition.

She should speak directly to alienated young men of all racial and ethnic groups. She should argue that the Democratic Party, especially one spearheaded by her leadership, will create the material conditions where they are most likely to improve rural, nonwhite, non college young men’s chances at having a good, dignified, stabile, family-sustaining job which will allow them to attract a good marital match and have kids under ideal conditions.

IMO, Dobbs and last night’s debate secured Kamala with the median white lady in the suburbs vote. In an election as tight as this, taking away .25 to .5 of your opponent’s support is decisive. Trump is vulnerable with his most unconvinced voters who only see him as a magical solution to their very normal adolescent problems and fears.

For Kamala Harris, going from 70% to 71% Gen Z support could very well get her into the White House and give her a governing trifecta.

It’s time to go for the kill.

"The campaign is expected to launch new ads in the coming days that feature key moments from Harris’s debate with Trump. The first such ad debuted late Wednesday, contrasting Trump’s depiction of the country as a “failing nation” with Harris’s call for a “new generation of leadership.”

In addition, Harris is expected to do more media interviews, focusing on reaching voters in key battleground states.

Harris plans to do local media interviews with outlets in battleground states during her travel. She is also expected to participate in a sit-down with the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) next week, the campaign said."
