Beautiful.

How was it,

So whats your go to frozen pizza?

Crazy as it sounds, I'll always have a soft spot for old staple Elio's. That's an elementary school thing. 😂

But being serious, Motor City Co is some SERIOUSLY GOOD pizza. If you like Detroit style, TRY IT! SO.FREAKING.GOOD!

And recently, I found a REALLY good thin crust from Aldi. Mama Cozzi cheeseburger thin crust for $4.99. Bake on the rack (in center height) itself (no pan). Mozz & cheddar, hamburger & sauce and for $5, it's actually pretty good. And less than 1000 calories for the whole thing. Easily a 12" pie. Some very good pies (for frozen or fresh refrigerated) at Aldi & Lidl. 👍

Looks like a Costco slice and that is not a bad thing

Oh no! I hadn't had a Costco slice in FOREVER. Like literally many years (due to Crohn's & paying for it later) but now that I had surgery, I was there to grab water (I'm one of a VERY few who can go and NOT spend loads of $$$ there). Finished and was hungry and didn't feel like the $1.50 hit dog drink combo, so I had a slice of cheese. Yeah, it's awful! So soft and just a glob of dough & cheese. 🙁 Never again!

It’s very situational. Right time of day, slice, etc. yeah, it can be bad

Motor City is da GOAT

I tried Motor City Monday. Yeaaaa...it is what yall said it is. :hat You can tell they put the dough in the tray and then add the toppings. It was cheese all under the dough when I opened it. This is not a compliant. I put the frozen pie on a plate, dumped all that extra cheese as toppings on top and put it back in the tray. Ended up being the perfect amount of cheese. I followed directions(yay!) so the crust was on point. While I was cutting it, I thought I was at the tray then got a very satisfying little pop as the knife broke the crispy crust at the bottom. I would've took a pic but I had a lot going on Monday. (RIP my rims.) EDIT: Almost forgot. 7/7. Probably my new go to for frozen pizzas.

Im gonna try Gino's next. Looks like imma have to go into Randalls tho.

this is art :hat

will need to make it happen :hat

This place looks like crack

It's the epitome of a hole-in-a-wall rpizzeria, but this place is serving up life-changing pies!!! :nthat:

They slice the garlic so incredibly thin on their signature "Joanie's Roni" that you'd swear Paul Cicero was back there preparing it 🧄🍕

I’ve still never been to santarpio 😅 if I’m ever out there I always just end up getting Mexican food. I need to try it
You've got to try it! It's thin & crispy with a charred undercarriage. I've got to get back there too. All my past few trips I veered to Regina's just because they're so damn great but best believe my next trip out there Santarpio's is going to be my 1st stop.

I remembered why I almost never order pizza anymore. $15 for a small plain pizza and they charged $3 for 2 little half filled cups of marinara sauce that should be given with the garlic knots I ordered. Didn't notice until I saw my grubhub receipt.

Graziella in Flushing, Queens. Went with the regular, grandma & Sicilian. All 3 were delicious. Sicilian nice & pillowy. Also tried Rosario's on Ditmars in the lively neighborhood of Astoria, Queens fnally as it has been on my 🍕 list for a while now.

Pretty cool shop. Bakery with imported Italian specialties. $22.50 for the 18" pie. Loved it. Mozzarella is made fresh in house & that really shined through in the pizza. Super thin slices.

No pics, but there’s a spot that has a handful of locations mainly in Cali, called slice house. Pretty legit imo.

this was from my trip back to worcester and boston. tried some new spots and hit some old reliables too.

these were the highlights. a mix of greek style, south shore bar pies with the laced edges, detroit style (volo in swampscott) and one of favorites in boston called santarpio's (who also has some of the best lamb and cherry hot peppers which are a must try....

not pictured but also elite were umbertos in the north end, joanies in chelmsford (thank you earldagoat earldagoat ), and blue sqaure in hopkinton. only calling these out for those of you in the area or those traveling to MA (*ahem* zmaqbool zmaqbool *ahem). these are must try spots as well.

and then these are the misses. new spots that have some buzz (the last one got a 10/10 from the dip**** dave portnoy but it was just ok. he must be friends & family with the owners cause it was nowhere near amazing):

this is monte's in lynn. portnoy gave it a 10/10 which is absurd. the pizza in the background was supposed to be pepperoni and garlic but the waitress heard pineapple and garlic. the combo actually worked fine surprisingly enough :lol

slice garage in SD...one of my go to spots. super small operation that does pop ups and farmers markets only at this point. hope this crew gets the chance to open a shop one day. good pies and some great topping combos

I was on a little personal pizza tour in the Whitestone neighborhood of Queens earlier today. Hit up Pizzarama on Franny Lew Blvd followed by Freddy's & lastly Whitepoint pizza in College Pt.

I saw a video on Freddy's on YouTube by this dude Scott's Pizza Tours and he was hitting up spots in Queens recently. Freddy's Sicilian is kinda unique in that they lay down sesame seeds underneath the dough onto the pan and then stretch out the dough and lay it over on top so the bottom is covered in sesame seeds. Nice touch.

Both slices from pizzarama were excellent. Whitepoint was ok just meh in comparison, Freddy's was the highlight.
