also for those counting, these put me over 300 slices for the year :lol
How the f would you know how many slices you’ve had 🤣 no disrespect

looks great. L&B Spumoni Garden has been on my list forever but just haven't made it to NYC since 2019
Been a minute for you my man! Maybe 2025 will be the year you return. They have a 2nd location as well now. It opened like a month ago. On that block with L&B included there's now 4 legendary pizza spots: L&B, Grimaldi's, Juliana's & Ignazio's. When you come back try em all.
Surprised there is a line. It was emptyish when I was there back in September
It was the last day of the year so mad tourists due to holiday season. It's going to be much more calm now till April.

New Haven >>>>>>>

the char, the tomato, the oven, the mozzarella

Modern Apizza is my fav.
If you like cheese and sauce this is the one.

Sally's doesn't put as much cheese but my togo pizza was better than my in store pizza.

Haven't been to frank pepe in New Haven but they are expanding to locations.

Been meaning to try Eda's Pizzeria in Manayunk. Got weird hours (4-9 only, Wed-Sun), but their pizza looks AMAZING on their IG page. They do New Haven style in the Philadelphia area so definitely had to go. Plus, seeing Portnoy's review early this week meant that it's gonna get SWAMPED!

So, having some free time while I recover, I left the house at 3 (48 minute drive down the Schuylkill) and got there before the line started. 10 minute wait and it was out. DAMN!! 🤤🤤

This was worth the drive (I finished the entire thing there). I rate it up there with the best around the Philadelphia area and burbs. Does it top my favorite spot on the Main Line (Johnny's). No, but this is definitely top 5. Only hiccup I can say, the oven must have been scorching hot as the bottom on a portion of the pie was pretty burnt (and I know the difference between charred and burnt). But it didn't spoil the overall pie for 90% of it.

Oh and the RC Cola? As a kid if the 80s (born mid 70s but grew up in the 80s to mid 90s (graduated '95) RC was always a great soda back growing up. Even though I don't drink soda anymore (unless I'm sick and Coca-Cola is VERY helpful for settling an upset stomach & nulls nausea), I had to get this. Brought me back.

Oh and if you want to know my top 5....
Johnny's Pizza of Bryn Mawr
Angelo's
Del Rossi's
Eda's
Collegeville Italian Bakery (their Norristown Red Top is fantastic).

Next up, CJ & D's Trenton Tomato Pie down on Passyunk Ave (between 9th and 10th) in Passyunk Square. Love Trenton style Tomato Pie so I can't wait to give them a go. Only issue, their hours are worse, lol. Wed 5-8, Fri 5-9 & Sunday 1-6. Maybe next week sometime.
