5 minute clips. you can take as many clips as you want up till 4GB i think. each clip is limited to 5 min in HD and 20 min in SD.
Thanks a lot man. I could deal with 5 min HD. Little more than 1 month until graduation and I'll finally have my D90.

QFT. I think that's right... think I know what it means.

But yea... I wasn't going to hate them, in the end as I posted before, I got my D90 when I got it and been able to enjoy it and not sit back andWAIT because newer (and "better") things will always be ready to drop... but I guess I would have been a bit "blown" specially if it hadtoo many of the D90 features for less the price.

I see the pros of having a screen the swivel, I mainly used it in the past to take discrete shots or images of kids (bend down to their level, swivel the screen up so you can see it), when recording, has many purposes... What I dont understand why the hinges on the bottom and not the side! But withNikon design, if the hinges were on the side it would block certain buttons too (those on the left side of the screen) or perhaps hinges on the side is a Canon"thing" dunno

I wouldn't be a hassle, as you can set the screen to sit back in place with screenout facing you, like it typically would... MY ONLY CONCERN.. would bethat if through wear and tear, usage the screen STOP WORKING! On my Canon G5, with swivel screen.. the screen is only active when open but when I turn it tosit "in place" the screen goes black (with the cam on of course). So that would be a big lost if the screen stop working!

I haven't been in this thread for a couple days and it grows over 10pages... other comments I wanted to respond to include...

D90 recording capabilities... as other noted 5 minutes AND not the greatest when panning - creates Jello effect (look it up), but good extra incentive to haveon a dslr that primary job is to shoot stills.

Lighting... strobist like other have mention... good stuff full of information. For Nikon users look up CLS, Joe McNally (think thats his name) and also theCLS DVD. Huhhh... a useful link for Nikon users - http://www.dtowntv.com/ Canon has their own system similiar toCLS, dont know what its called.

Deciding which cam to buy... think of the primary use for it and don't let the video be the deciding factor as you might not end up using it as often ANDvideo will only get better on newer models

i wasnt expecting to do a shoot that day. i was only supposed to cover the event. but turned out to be a mini shoot.

c/c pls.

Trust me. You do not need more then 5 mins of footy. People think they are going to use this HD technology and make some full length film but you know most ofit will just go on Youtube and Vimeo. So 5 minutes of footage should be enough and you can always cut the footage up with multiple shots that you take and makeit more dramatic. No one does continuous shots no more anyways, unless you are filing concert footage or 2 bums fighting on the street.

qksLvrtypeS - Nice pictures man .. I don't think that's anything like your best work and maybe its due to the fact you wasn't trying to do a shootinitially, but nevertheless is good.

IMHO the last one is the best in the bunch .. in some you just have to much negative space in the picture that I personally don't like, not saying is bad, that's just my taste and in others the angels/poses of the models ain't working for me. I been hit a lot for that because sometimes we just over lookwhat the model is doing because we are tying to compose and trying to get correct lighting etc ....

learning about lighting is next level stuff. really, all u need is a used flash (nikon sb26/sb28 for $60-$100 on ebay), optical slave ($15) or adapter w/ cord ($20), and you're off and running.

add a cheap stand/tripod ($20), umbrella ($15), umbrella adaptor ($15), and a few gels ($5), and you're doing stuff like this
what's the 101 102. are those links? hahah

but i already have an SB-800 and that's all i plan to use for now. my D50 doesnt have comandeer mode so i'm probably just gonna get a cord. idk. haha
Ummmmmmm some cameras dont need all those adapters bruh.

If your flash has Wireless mode...and your cam can trigger wirelessly, you just need to change the flash mode from rear or slow to wireless...and you set. Yourpopup flash will trigger the other flash

^^ I think that was cover and the 101 and 102 leassons are actually good and helpful ..

plus with the flashes he mentioned I believe that you do need all that crap ..

yea that's basically it

sb600/sb800/sb900 already work with d70/70s/80/90/200/300/700, but even the sb600 is $160-$180 used

anyone can cop an old sb25/26/28 for half that or less on ebay, and plenty of ppl have the d40/40x/50/60 that don't have wireless built in

IMPORTANT QUESTION:

If you look a few pages back you'll see that I just got and payed $48 shipped for the 50mm f/1.8, but I have the chance to buy the 50mm f/1.4 for $115shipped now. Should I jump on it? It's not the new one so I won't have AF, but I won't have AF either way. Is that 0.4 stop extra worth getting it?Do y'all think I could flip the other one and at least get my money back?

HELP!

By the way, that Evo's looking proper. Great shots, amigo. Any panning shots?

EDIT: Being that it's the top of the page, I'll contribute. I don't know if I already posted these. If I did, C&C. If I didn't, C&C.It's appreciated. These were my favorites from Spring Break. I'm putting up the large ones so any and all flaws and details are visible.
