Been eyeing the XPS 13 or Surface book to replace my MBA for travel. Probably won't pull the trigger but still interested to see thoughts

Surface book and the xps 13?  huge price differences. I would go with a surface pro 3 since you can get them for a good price in the states. In canada we dont get any good deals on them or i would buy one.

Price difference is about 3-400 bucks from what I see. SB has additional functionality compared to the XPS 13.

Costco had the XPS 13 with the older processor (Skylake?) for $850 for black Friday. Personally I love the keyboard on the XPS and the screen is super sexy.

My friend bought a Spectre x360 and after using it for a few minutes, this thing makes my reliable ASUS from a few years ago feel like a relic. Keyboard is a little shallow for my liking, but I am sure I can get used to that. 2017 I will def grab a new laptop f

Just saw the reviews on this. They've been good. I'm looking at that, the yoga 910, and the xps13. Only thing I wish it had was a precision touchpad. But it might not be a deal breaker.

I'm looking at the exact same laptops, ultimately I'm sure the one I can find for the lowest price will be the one I get.

I saw a 16gb 512ssd joint on Ebay for like 1100, Its a refurb but has a yr of Dells warranty. I tried looking on Reddit and saw mixed feelings towards the XPS13 and pretty much universal praise towards the Surfacebook. I like the SB more from a functionality standpoint but It is much heavier than the XPS 13.

You can't go wrong with the SB, I've never used one but I've heard really good things about it. It's a little too expensive for me, and I like the carbon fiber finish on the XPS.

I`m probably going to hold off. I do like what MS is doing with their in house devices. I`m an Apple guy but they are falling behind the pact and only so long can they depend on Mac loyalist to save them, especially when MS is starting to produce legit alternatives.

Hitman has me fiending for Vega and a new cpu though. Playing on about medium and my frames still get **** on in crowds.

Really late in replying to this but yes. 100% silent when I'm running pretty much anything demanding on high/ultra. Barely been going above 38° C

Given this info, the 1080 Ti seems more enticing than Vega 10.

Reference rx 480s are loud as .... and run at 80-89 degrees.

Pretty much every AMD GPU I've had was somewhat noisy honestly

The 4870x2 was LOUD.

Thing was a beast till it crapped out on me

I'm keeping my expectations for Vega 10 pretty low. 

So I'm assumming it'll do 4k/60 on well optimized games.

But the 1080 Ti could be released at a ridiculous price.

Nvidia keynote at CES tonight - 9:30ET/6:30PT.  Lots of rumors claiming a 1080ti paper launch.  AMD supposedly showing Ryzen and Vega tomorrow.

ASUS announces Swift PG27UQ 4K IPS 144Hz G-Sync HDR monitor

This monitor checks almost all the boxes for me.  Hopefully something like this is the standard 3-4 years from now.
