Whats papi gonna do with 16GB of ram?

let em cop you a 4k 40 inch tv b.

or a bigger ssd if you need and dump tha 1TB drive

I was looking at getting a big KS8000 for a possible PS4 Pro, and to double as a second monitor, but I was gonna wait for prices to go down. I already know that 290 isn't gonna cut it for me at 4k.

I've been looking at a bigger SSD because I avoid using the HDD at all costs . I keep getting cold feet when I'm gonna pull the trigger though, so that's probably something I'll also ask for.

I know recommended specs usually don't mean ****, but they are getting higher in RAM.

I would seriously appreciate some help

480gb-500gb ssd

vega gpu or gtx 1080

pci wifi/bluetooth adapter

bluetooth earbuds

and

16gb of ram

some games reccomend 16gb.

Like Forza horizon 3, dishonored 2, and just cause 3.

Just cause 3 I couldn't even play it until, I upped the ram from 8 to 16gb.

There's were issuses with the game and upping ram was the easiest fix.

I use the hyperx cloud revolver, pretty good. the mic is removable so you don't look like a dweeb when you just want to listen to music or watch a movie. another cool thing is when someone calls while im gaming I just plug them into my phone and can talk hands free. 

they also don't look super gamerish which is cool too.

Sennheiser Game One. Very comfortable and sound great. Had to go with a brand known for making great headphones.

i7 4790K, with a 212 Evo

2x8gb 16gb ram ddr3 1866 or 2133

500gb ssd, model doesnt matter as long as its a reputable brand (intel, samsung, crucial, plextor) with MLC or 3D Vnand. Stay away from non 3d TLC

GPU and monitor depends on what your goals are

Appreciate it fam. I'm going for the SSD, RAM, and some headphones. If AMD would quit BSing with Vega, I would hop on that and hopefully a 4k monitor immediately. Hopefully next year

Anybody built a mini pc before? I wanna build something that can sit under a tv and not take up too much space. I've looked at the Intel NUC but I'm not sure if it's worth it for what I'm trying to do and I don't wanna be stuck with their parts.

I've not.

I intially considered building an mini itx computer, until I saw how much as a pain it would be to build.

If you're just building a media hub type computer, go for it.

If you're installing a gpu with it, maybe not. 

It's more difficult to get the parts situated due to how small the pc is. 

Search "mini-itx computer build" on youtube to get a clear poicture about the build process.

The NUC uses standardized parts. Caveat is the CPU cant be upgraded and storage is some what limited.
Most mini pcs use laptop parts and laptop/ultra voltage cpus.
You should just buy one, I recommend an alienware alpha.
The first gen alienware alpha goes for cheap these days.

Thanks for the input guys. Not being able to upgrade the cpu on the NUC is a problem. That steam machine is interesting. I'm gonna use this as an emulation machine (for games I already own) so I don't need high end hardware. I'll look into the mini ITX builds.

Just saw the reviews on this. They've been good. I'm looking at that, the yoga 910, and the xps13. Only thing I wish it had was a precision touchpad. But it might not be a deal breaker.
