You can't teach baseball instincts, Tejada had an incredible at bat, awesome eye on that breaking pitch after seeing all of those fastballs.
That was as good a quality half inning as you will see...Valdespin, Tejada, and Murphy fought off everything.
Nats scored two in the bottom of the 9th to win it as well.

Getting swept by the Braves and now losing the series vs the Nats is not a good way to start the second half.
Bullpen needs to improve ASAP. Sandy said Mets are going to be buyers this year so pitchers will be on their radar.

Dickey needs to be the stopper again tomorrow. Mets can also be sellers at this point. Could be double digit games out of division by end of this week alone.

Can't be dissapointed, it was a rebuilding year from the get. Wheeler/Harvey are the future of this team, don't jeprodize that.

Don't really see the team selling anything because most of our players are home grown and developing, we are losing these games and have been since the first half due to our bullpen. Yes starters have been up and down at times but you can't expect them to be perfect every time out.
Must win tonight's game....a lot of things have to go right for the team to stay in contention.

REALLY needed this game today, only fall one game back after this series....could've been a lot worse.

Pitching has been failing the team since the Cubs series in the first half, Mets offense is trying their best to bail them out losing thee games :x

Was at the game today and after RA gave up that 2 run shot, Citi's enthusiasm deflated. Pitching has been the Mets' achilles heel all year (mostly the bullpen), but lazy fielding today gave the Dodgers an additional run or two.

Should of been up. They really try to tell us they was gonna compete with Bautista, Hefner, and Schiwinden. At least Hefner was decent them other two was automatic losses. Sandy should be slapped for that
