So Herod smells like those particular fragrances or those particular Muslim gents?

Went and browsed around Nordstroms originally looking for DHI. Valentino Uomo caught my attention and got some samples to see how I like it when worn.

Being new to all of this, I'm still exploring and learning. What do you guys think of it?

Uomo is a great substitute for DHI. Uomo has a pronounced hazelnut note and DHI has their signature iris note. Great fall/winter night time scent imo.

Not necessarily looking for a DHI replacement, was just something I thought smelled good while I was searching for the Dior. Good to know though!

I LOVE Blu Mediterraneo Mandorlo di Sicilia. I immediately wanted to buy some more as soon as I sprayed it on :lol

Thanks, NSJs

How many sprays of Aventus do y'all use?

Seems like a spray to the neck does the job for me, and maybe a half spray to the wrists.

so I am forced to choose between aventus and pure malt...

which would you guys recommend to me for an all year round go to?

any advice is much appreciated, thanks!

Aventus. Pure Malt is more of a Fall/Winter scent to me (better in colder weather).

I always overspray (3 full sprays) and end up needing to wash it off when I get home :lol. 1 full spray and 2 half-sprays should be good.

Aventus if you need something more versatile between the two. I think I'm going to go with La'Nuit de L'Homme for my everyday cologne. I havent smelled DHI yet, but for what I see it seems more like a night out scent which I already have in Pure Malt.

I'd go aventus over pure malt if you're looking all year use.

What are the "rules" when spraying cologne? On skin or clothes? I've read neck and wrist are the hot spots, not sure how true that is. I'm sure there is but, such thing as over spraying?

I feel like there is a FAQ I missed somewhere.

No rules :lol. I don't spray my wrists, I do neck and clothes. Some scents will smell better, project better, and last longer on your skin based on its mixture with your natural body odors, oils, shampoo, body wash, temperature, etc., so you'll want to consider that. The wrists and neck are funny because you'll hear several different reasons as to why they're the "best" spots to spray. Best bet is to just try it and see how you like it. As for over spraying, when you get a headache or just feel like you want to take a shower to get rid of the scent then you've oversprayed :lol. Or you just don't like the scent as much as you thought.
