The NYPD conducts an investigation after a shooting occurred during a basketball tournament at Rucker Park on Wednesday.

Five people were shot last night at a basketball game at Harlem’s famed Rucker Park where ex-Knicks guard Nate Robinson was among those scrambling for safety during the chaos, authorities and witnesses said.

The mayhem broke loose just before 11 p.m. at the courts on West 155th Street and Eighth Avenue during the annual Entertainers Basketball Classic, which has featured numerous NBA superstars.

“A dispute broke out, a fight, someone was punched as a result of the heckling,” Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said. Kelly said the suspect was in the stands and wearing a lime green shirt took out a gun. According to Kelly, the shooter opened fire on the court, hitting one player and four people nearby. Kelly said the brazen gunman then “chased another individual across the street and shot that individual.”

Law enforcement sources identified the victims as Michael White, Dayan Benett, Tristin Anderson, Vaughn Allen and Messiah Ortiz. None of the men suffered life-threatening injuries.

Kelly said the gun used was a small caliber, likely a .22 based on three shell casings found at the scene.

“All of a sudden the game stopped because an argument broke out in the stands,” said witness Rodney Harris Jr., 47, who was five feet from the melee.“The next thing you know one guy reaches into his pants pocket and pulled out a gun. He fired one shot into the crowd and then another.”

His friend’s son was playing in the game and was shot in the ankle.

“He was just an innocent bystander. It scared the living daylights out of me,” Harris said.

He said the shooter ran outside of the park onto the corner before shooting a couple more rounds.

Cops said it was not totally clear what sparked the violence but it may have been as simple as someone forgetting to say “excuse me.”

“One guy bumped into another guy from another group,” the source said.

Video of the tense scene was later posted on the website worldstarhiphop.com.

"Oh! Oh!" a woman yells as shots are fired.

Robinson was at the game but didn’t play. Witnesses said he was escorted out.

A spokesman for the tournament did not return requests for comment.

My Wolves finally getting on TNT :pimp: :pimp:

Nuggets were on Christmas three out of the last four years including this season. I think they started playing on christmas after the 08 season when they made it to the WCF.
09- portland
10- okc
11- N/A
12-clippers

i was shocked the knicks got all those national televised games  but knicks also got 18 back to back games :smh:

How are the Knicks the most televised team? was it like this last year?

pretty sure it was based off Lin im guessing. now that hes gone...

i think all 4 of the Knicks vs Nets games are all on national tv

So after doing a little catching up on the Dwight Howard situation, there's really only 1 of 3 ways this thing will end right?
  1. 1. sometime over the next 6 months he gets traded to the Lakers.
  2. 2. after that 6 months if he's not traded to the Lakers, the nets then become the frontrunner to land him.
  3. 3. or don't trade him at all, and watch him become a maverick next offseason.

*And i guess there's a wild card in there somewhere, which is there will probably be a team dumb enough out there willing to throw the farm at Orlando thinking they can convince him to stay

Interesting the Heat won't be playing in Cleveland this season....

I think the Blazers are going to be a playoff team again, but 15 games?

Same here, they look pretty good from here.

Im gonna watch them all but wont be hyped up. Even knicks lakers doesnt feel like xmas. I want an eastern rival like bos or chi

i hear you, but with the bulls potentially out of contention I feel like this will be a highly anticipated match up. I full expect the knicks to be a top 3 seed in the East this year, same with the lakers in the west.

LOL same losers making up stirring the conspiracy pot early for the heat.

bitter dudes acting like the NBA gave the heat 82 games vs. the bobcats.
