Practice mode gives you alternate options?.....
Practice mode allows you to work on exactly what you had questions about. How many of Da_Czar video's that I have posted about FreeLance movement have you watched? Scrimmeage mode allows you to work on all of that stuff man.

he was asking about a faster way to change them in the menus, instead of having to go through layers of options in the middle of the action

I like it when dudes play off ball D.

9/10 they play D like that Harden video from 2 years ago :lol so you break down the CPU and their man is wide open

???

Right now if I want to change my offense, I have to press D-Pad Left, R1, Right Stick Up, Scroll Through Pages using R1/L1 - then pick the offense using Right Stick, then press Circle to accept it. That's just for the offense. I have to repeat the same thing to change the motion to Freelance Action. I'm asking if there's another way. If I wanted to hit practice mode + watch all the Czar videos (which I already do) - I would've done that.

I know what he meant, and I am saying that he can practice that IN scrimmage mode.

Da_Czar specifically spoke on, "Being quick at changing menus" when play calling and changing up POES and all on the fly adjustments

Again, if you practice your speed and familiarity of the controls IN scrimmage mode, by time you get into the game you won't have to think twice about your input commands.

And no, there is no other way to do what you are asking. You just have to become quicker with your inputs

Cool, thanks. It's not really a huge deal. I was just trying to explain to my cousin how to switch to zone offense against some dude who was running that off ball 2-3. But everytime I tried explaining it, dude would double or start pressuring while he was moving through the menus. Made me realize that it's even more inputs than last year :{ They've gotta let you change that stuff up during time outs at least.

Welcome to the real world man. A Point guard trying to direct traffic when he is getting pressured by a defender is a real thing. You can't think straight when you are tired and have someone hanging onto your every step. Reps, reps, reps. It is Day 7, your mind had to get adjusted to a still fairly new game. Master controls commands.

Call stuff in the backcourt before you even cross halfcourt if you know dude is going to run a zone.

Hell, just start off in the zone offense if need be

What about the question I had, though? :lol

I always end up in dead plays when running the freelance offense. I've been attempting this in scrimmage mode for the past couple of days and had no success. Most of the time, it will only result in a pass, then the play stops.

Plays get broke for many reasons.

Defense could have caused a redirection of an offensive player's route.

An offensive player could have help on to the ball too long

When you think the play dies is actually when you are supposed to attack.

The ball handler isn't standing in the correct position for their to be optimal movement (See Da_Czars first video on SPACING)

Freelance isn't really "plays."

I understand this and the question came up because I watched Da Czar's video and he wasn't experiencing the same issues. I just thought it was weird. Maybe its the team I'm using in scrimmage (HOU) and it involves a lot of iso's. I'll try it out with a team like the Spurs or Warriors to see how if it works out.

To be honest, he only showed a 2 minute clip. You are playing a full game, no way to replicate everything in practice that you will see in a game.

Just played for the first time last night.

Does the game feel very slow to yall?
I feel like I am constantly being absorbed into animations, and cant make the easiest, and wide open shots on simulation, all star.

Any slider recommendations would be great.

Give yourself time to learn the game Jay. You just got it. You will get better with time. You sound like the dudes in the Get in Shape thread that just started working out asking for Pre-Workout suggestions

Pro or All Star - Simulation.

Work your way up from that. THEN after you beat the CPU like 15 times, move up to Superstar

I'm not playing an actual exhibition game when I'm attempting this. I usually try testing a lot of things in scrimmage mode, so that's why it was weird I couldn't get it to run. I'm looking at the spots he has for certain teams to initiate the freelance and its not working :lol . You would think after sitting in practice for a good 10-15 minutes in half court, the play will not be broken every single time or it will only result in one pass.

If he's replicating this in scrimmage mode like in the videos, he's either taking a long time to make the videos based on the results I'm getting or he's playing on rookie where the defense is weak.

Can you post a video of this so I can look at it or even send it to him so he can comment on it

I will tomorrow. Once these games go off I'm headed to bed. I'm also going to try the freelance with a couple of teams that rely heavily on ball movement to see if it was just the squad I was using (HOU).

If I still have trouble, I'll probably just stick to my playbook after testing them out for whichever team I play with. Sometimes I like using the "automatic playcall" function for a quarter as well.

Stick to myplayer if you're going to play one man defense.
When I initially began playing 2k years ago, I learned to defend with using a center and PF first then I started defending with the sf. I've since learned to defend at all positions. I just wanted to hear everyone's opinion on the matter so wash your face B.

I have been playing 2k since 2k1, ever since 2k14 came out on next gen, it feels a lot different to me. I never had to change sliders until now, but youre right I need to be playing more games.

Ask yourself, what are you looking for slider adjustments to do specifically? Sometimes we just change sliders because we don't get the results we want (usually wins/losses - made/missed shots) but it is deeper than that.

So yea, what exactly do you think needs adjusting?

I don't mind the all star difficulty. And I dont plan on making it harder.

Just wanted to see if there was any sliders you guys set that needs to be done in this game. I tweaked it a lil, I just wanted something to compare it to.

I guess mostly gamespeed and the constant contact while dribbling. I know it's the animations.

But yeah, like you said, need more practice is all.
