If T-Mac turns out to be the Spurs secret weapon against the Heat :hat :hat :hat
You guys have wide imaginations
I'm saying, tho. :lol

Hmmmm...........I swear I've heard this quote before. It was about another team. I think their colors are blue and yellow. Maybe gold. The name escapes me.
I don't think anyone said West was better than bosh and if they did they're not very smart

Spurs are not a team that will be rusty due to a sweep. For them rest > having their series closer to each other.

Theyre a vet team, theyre older so rest is key and more time for them to come up with a strategy vs. MIA

Spurs could of definetly use Stephen Jackson to defend Lebron..

Assuming Miami advance to finals, and thats what im predicting.

spurs already waived jackson before playoff start

So two flopping teams playing each other in the finals is what we're going to see? :x

Tmac will shock a lot of doubters. This is his first and last chance. He will beast. I'm sure Pop picked up Tmac for a reason. I think that reason is to use him against the Heat :hat

Who would've thought the Warriors would be the only team that's beaten the Spurs this postseason?

The way the Spurs can adjust on the fly and defend any team has proven to be incredible this postseason. Went from shutting down the perimeter against the W's to holding down the paint versus the Grizzlies. It's fun to watch them play.

i guess ppl forgot how especially kobe early years use to get heckled by fans...or his allstar appearance in philly in which he was massively booed and iverson had to come out and basically save him and tell the fans to get off him...but yet kobe was the most popular and iverson was a flava of the month....

I guess it was those adidias crazy 8's etc... that were flying off the shelves and not iversons....Im assuming when nike had the nba and iverson jersey was a top 5 seller year in and year out, it was ppl who confused the jersey with kobes 8.... Like i said kobe bandwagon came when iverson, carter, tmac etc... fell off, and when lebron came into the league.....and the whole could he be the next mj, is he better then kobe?

Kobe was being compared to MJ as early as 1997. The 1998 all star game was full of Kobe-MJ comparisons. That is some revisionist history right there. Carter was actually more popular than Iverson and Kobe from 2000-2002. ESPN was giving him the Lebron treatment those years. The only year Tmac beat Kobe in all star voting was 2005.

Kobe has gained popularity steadily and still has it while the other dudes you mentioned fell off hard and fast...like flavors of the month :smokin

Spurs in the finals and Doo be Doo is nowhere to be found. It just doesn't seem right. He's annoying as hell but that man needs to be unbanned if he's currently banned

thats the same thing i said lol.... kobe rise in popularity rose as the others fame/game etc...be it injuries diminished. No doubt he would have had the popularity anyways..But that didnt hurt him one bit, and then from a global standpoint his whole wife cheating thing, believe it or not got his name out there to. It happened right when the whole gossip wanna know everybody you dont know business ala the reality tv stars rise.

I mean kobe was being talked about on shows, news outlets etc... places that have no affliation with sports. For as negative as it was press is press and exposure is just that,

As far as carter is concern he was kinda more popular...but not really more popular then iverson...ai was like rap music in its early stages...you had ppl especially adults mostly whites not buy into it...but the streets, and even young white kids...when parents werent around was str8 blasting nwa. Iverson was adored by the avg joe...And his international fame was huge, especially in asian countries.

and so is everyone else...if you listened to the post game talks, sportscenter etc... the talk was how epic it would be for the spurs to beat the heat...how most of their chips came from clearly inferior teams, with the exception of 99 and that was a lockout year. How if they were to beat this miami team, it would be one of the greatest championship victories of all time. How we havent seen to arguable superior/great teams go at it since the lakers/celtics type finals or pistons/lakers type finals.

Everyone just pretty much dismissed the thought of a spurs/pacers final. Hell even magic was like this sweep will be good for the spurs cause they need all the rest they can get against miami. Wilborn was like the time will give pop ample enough time to come up with a gameplan to stop or slow down lebron.
