but even that can be misleading....see yao ming lead.was voted in, during seasons he didnt complete or hell didnt even play in. Plus iverson vince etc....had the appeal of the avg joe...at the time before everyone and they mama had internet access etc. I mean you cannot deny especially iversons popularity, hell you had white/asian kids etc...trying to grow their hair out and braid it. If memory serves me correct and it does, you had a plethra on niketalk, even had threads on watch my hair grow, imma get this so and so braid/cornrow style like iverson. Plus like i said not gonna even compare the shoes/jersey sales.

Dont get me wrong kobe wasnt a nobody or a lame...but i do remember an episode of i think real life...back in the kobe 8 afro days on mtv...and a kid wished to play and kick it with kobe. In which they were in la and you had ppl not even know who he was. I dont think the said could be said about ai. in philly at any point outside maybe his first few years. And like i said earlier dont forget the boos, and heckles from the all star game in philly, and he is from philly....

Aint like there was a philly la rival lol...dude iuno for whatever reason i forget, got no love that night.

Who really thought the Grizz would be getting swept by the Spurs??

honestly in my playoff bracket i had them against the spurs winning in 6 due mainly because of parker being injured, them losing stephen jack, duncan with his nags along with the uncertaincy of ginobli. looks like i will atleast possibly get my heat in 6 right...although i wouldnt be surprise if 5.

Yes AI was hugely popular but I never felt like he was a rival of Kobe because they were different players and Kobe was winning with Shaq, so it was a different animal. You knew Kobe was the man but you couldn't really say it. I also felt like AI alienated alot of people too.

But to be honest with you, I barely remember that post MJ era because it wasn't my favorite era.

Hey Spurs Cats_

Is TMac being reserved to possibly guard LeBron?

Julius F. Wrek
Who knows, thats what I'm assuming, but I've heard absolutely nothing close to concrete about it.

I didnt even have Memphis making it this far, but I wouldnt have called a sweep on them, probably would have went 6, 5 at the most. This is pleasantly shocking to me. After losing to Memphis like we did back in 2011 it feels great to come back and potentially sweep a better Grizzlies team on a bigger stage. Retribution if I've ever seen it.

Sorry the "No help" excuse doesn't apply here. T Mac was the most talented player in the series then he had Yao who outplayed Dirk in that series then they had Mike James in double figures and 2 great shooters in David Wesley and Jon Barry.

So McGrady who was the most talented player in the series had Yao, who outplayed the Mavs best player, some shooters and another scorer in Mike James.

with Dirk struggling, T Mac had more than enough to get it done. He was up 2-0 with THREE home games left in the series. Embarrassing

I think Houston should've definitely won this series too especially being up 2-0 but you act like it was Tmac, the reason they didn't win. He beasted that series. You keep mentioning Dirk struggling. Um, why do you think he struggled? It's cause Tmac and Ryan Bowen played GREAT D on him. So how did they lose that series? A guy named Jason Terry happened to light up the Houston backcourt. Don't tell me you expect Tmac to shut out Dirk, Jason Terry and post up the scoring numbers he did too?

Bruh you cant call that foul man, it wasnt even a foul. They just ruined a fastbreak play for NO REASON

Speaking of terrible commercials, let's add that Quick Ain't Fair one to the list. Absolute trash. This game needs some Ginobli right now, the Grizzlies are too close for comfort with how bad they've played.
all star votes doesn't equal popularity.

:lol

I vote for every Spur possible simply because every player on the roster is of all star caliber.

True.

That year when Yi Jianlian came 3rd in voting at the forward position, he definitely earned that.

Not at all because he's popular in China or anything.

or why I write in Jimmer and Chase Budinger every year, its cuz those guys are deserving of votes. Not because they are just my favorite players or whatever

What in the hell...? Yao was absolutely dominant when he was healthy. Dude took over as the best center in the league in probably 05 or 06 and stayed the best til 2009, his last real healthy year. Rik Smits was a career 14 and 6 guy and was the third option on all his Pacer teams at best. Awful comparison.

You're making it seem like Yao was on some kind of Shaq, Ewing, Hakeem, D Rob type dominant when he damn sure wasn't even CLOSE to them. When I refered to Rik Smits, I wasn't trying to clown Yao. What I'm saying was he was never on that DOMINANT steez like those aboved mentioned centers and I knew he never would be too. You saying Yao was the best center at that time is not really saying much. Go peep who his competition was at that position.

you are going to tell me Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, and Allen Iverson were more popular than Michael Jordan?
