cosign...when i say incorrect, i mean correct, because it hurts you guys more than it helps, if that makes sense

Even though he has the potential to be an ace? Then what happens w/ 42 retires? Then you have a ill-@%# setup guy w/o a closer?

Potential is the key word. Like I stated before I don't trust Joba with all the arm injuries in his past and how carefully they brought him along. Inever thought he had enough innings in him to seamlessly move from the pen to a starter. Arm/shoulder issues will more than likely always be there with Joba. Put him in the pen and let him be the 8th inning guy. You figure Mo has 2 (or 3) good seasons left in him, more than enough time to gauge Joba as a closer. If you're comfortable with him then you use him. If not, Yankees will do what they do best and go out and get the best closer available or maybe evenMelacon. But even after putting my point out there, I still hope Joba proves me wrong and stays healthy and throws a good amount of innings.

That's like having a Ferrari and only driving it 2 blocks at a time. This guy has been a starter ALL his life, he's built like that. He has 4 pitches...and throws HARD. If he goes back to the pen, after training to become a starter he'll get setback again! It just doesn't make sense to move him to the pen. Say Phil continues to pitch well, and CMW comes back throwing like he did last year, then you move Joba to the pen (nevermind the fact that Bruney should be back)...then AP or CC gets hurt, then what?! Move Joba back to being a starter?! The decision has been made and I think it's the correct one. No bouncing back and forth w/ the role of a pitcher. Things like that should be established early on, and I'm glad the coaching staff did so.
He throws hard? They changed his delivery over the winter so he doesn't hurt his arm again. This change in delivery removed all theexplosive and the calmed down his previously violent-like delivery. Dude clocks out at 94 MAX now. His range has been 91-94 on his 4 seamer since spring. This is including his last 2 starts. Dude lost all his explosiveness. And he has 4 pitches? His changeup and Curve aren't there yet. Yes he has anasty slider we know that. But he needs to improve those other 2 pitches. Because at 94MPH, his fastball is now just above average. Hughes has his curve, 94fastball, a cutter, a change, a slider, and a splitter. Hughes is about the same age and he's light years away in terms of being a starter.

Yes he's a Ferrari. But sometimes your Ferrari must be moved to where it fits best with the team. Wang(he'll recover he had too many good years notto), CC, Burnett will have 1-3 slots locked for the next 5 years. Hughes will more than likely replace Pettite to be the 4th. Mo has 2 years left on hisdeal. Meaning that he'll retire at that point more than likely. Especially if he has another surgery. Plus he's what 41, 42, 43 now? He might losesome of that velocity sooner or later. I know he had a great year last year, but athletes sometimes lose certain aspects of their games overnight. We need areplacement CP in the future. Joba with his 2 pitches + maybe adding a cutter, because we see how the Yankee organizaion keeps teaching all its pitchers it,and he's nearly unhittable for 80 innings a year. This way he won't hurt his arm because he'll pitch only half the time he would as a starter. But atleast you'd know that he'd be shutdown for those 80 innings. Instead of yes he has it or no he doesn't for 200 innings. Papelbon is thebest comparison. He waned to be a starter but what's best for the oranization is CP. And he's been considered the best and at the very least top 3 inthe majors in that role. As a SP he might of been the #3 or #4 for the sox at this point behind Beckett and Lester. Great move on their part. Yankees needto do the same. 6 innings from our SP then Brunney in the 7th, Joba in the 8th, and Mo in the 9th maxes the games all 6 inning games. Meaning fresh startersfor the playoffs. And I still believe Kennedy could be a decent SP who'll have a game that resembled Mike Mussina's in terms of his pitching style. If not we have that 6'9 dude in the minors who looks like he has lots of potential.

^ I don't know about 94, his last two starts he's been hitting 97-98 with relative ease in the first few innings.

Yankees Young Gun vs. Detroit Young Gun

should be interesting tonight. I think we need another 6-10 run night and really up our confidence for the team and Joba
