I'm on probation, I've been given travel vouchers that have come up missing 7/8 months later. They've tried violating me for it, while it was right there in their computer and my folder. In the I can't speak for PA, but in NYC all their paperwork is about 6 months behind. Before I went to prison I was in and out of trouble, I was already on probation for a case I caught in Manhattan, I ended up catching a big case outta state, and NY had no clue. I missed a NY court date cause I was in jail waiting for my bond to be approved, they had no clue about that case until almost a year later.

Long story short, I was on the run in one state, on probation in another and was checking in every month. During that time I caught 2 cases in the same week, one in Queens another in Manhattan. Never got violated or brought up on the case I was on the run from. Then one day, somebody was doin their "job" found out I had 1 felony case in one state and another simple violation in another and probation police arrested me at home (Brooklyn).

The whole time in prison and halfway house I was NEVER tested for DNA (A requirement in most states after you're convicted of a felony) so about 5 months after being released, they were threatening to lock me up for up to 5 years for refusal to submit DNA. At the time I was on probation for 3 years, and had 7 years from my 10 year sentence that was still hanging.

Meek has made some poor choices, that can't be countered, but when a DA is after you, the prison population in this country shows that the DA normally gets what he/she wants. He may have made it easier, but I've seen people catch much more serious cases while on probation. This is a "technical violation", in NY you go to the Island (Rikers) and sit for 3 months. Technical violation ain't shot foreal

Hopefully money talks and he can make it out with some type of home confinement, or a suspended sentence. His probation will be upheld and he's gonna have to continue to go through the motions. Probation is worse than jail time for some people. I've seen people take extra jail time to make sure they didn't get probation time. It's THAT serious. It's a trap.

Hopefully Meek uses this experience to make more heartfelt music instead of a million watch references.
