I would have been OK w/the Large but decided to try the XL and for a jacket i like jackets to be a little loose...gotta bundle up in layers during the winter on the east coast

They are not loose fit. I wear a large in bball hoody(kobe's for example) and the Large MPs hoody is a lil smaller than the Kobe bball hoody.
