OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2024-2025 SEASON THREAD

^^ :lol I feel the same way. I'm usually not stressing until the playoffs start but this year might be the window is starting to close as far CP3's prime.

Gotta go to a farewell dinner for my coworker's last day. I'm trying to convice her to pick an establishment that has TV's :lol. Really don't wanna miss this game.

Its for sure going to entertaining regardless of the actual basketball. The Dallas Morning news apparently included big cut outs of DJ's head in this morning's edition of the paper. Going to be a lot of extra-curricular stuff going on. :lol

hoping for a DJ 20+20 game

the stagger imo should be, starters start the game, somewhere late in the first CP3 should come out for rivers and let rivers log about 4 mins w/ starters along w/ letting jamal crawford see time with the starters @ the 2. then second quarter you should see 6-8 mins of a CP3 led lineup featuring stephenson/redick/PP/josh smith/DJ or Aldrige or Griffin at the 5

at the half, starters should come back in...maybe start pierce for lance.

really, the only time we should see a full bench 5 is late in the 3rd for no more than 5 mins.

starters should then log 9-12 mins in 4th together with whoever is needed at the 3 position. PP or stephenson/wesley johnson

prigioni/rivers/PP/josh smith/griffin lineups for a few mins a game would be good as well.

i will say that if we can find a lineup where all 5 players are subs/borderline starters like PP or lance where they can consistently hold their own and even beat other teams second units, that is a big win for our team.

think about it, there is no reason why a lineup of rivers/jamal crawford/PP and/or Lance/josh smith and whoever is at center shouldnt kill other teams second units. when you play PP at the 4, simply play DJ along side. rebound issues solved

- Hopefully JJ's back spasms don't linger. I anticipate him sitting out tomorrow night.

- More Wesley Johnson, less Jamal Crawford especially in the fourth quarter.

- Austin Rivers continues to show his worth on both sides of the ball.

- Please stop playing PP so much, especially at the four in the fourth. He can't defend, or rebound.

- CP and Blake really struggled, bad shooting night. But i'm okay with that. CP especially, he'll find his shooting touch soon...hopefully.

- STOP PLAYING PP SO MUCH. WE CANT REBOUND WITH HIM ON THE FLOOR.

- Bench got our lead erased in the first half, and brought us all the way back in the 2nd. The inconsistency of the bench is frustrating man.

All this, except for the CP part. I thought he played poorly all around in the second half. And Blake was frustrated and got out of his game.

Also, though I hate to be the guy who blames everything on the coach, Doc made some critical mistakes in this one too. Did not leave the bench in long enough after they really started to play well. And stubbornly left DJ in the game when it was clearly a disadvantage for us. Maybe we would have lost regardless -- the banked Dirk 3 kind of indicated that was the case -- but once again I don't think we gave ourselves the best opportunity to win.

Don't like to drop winnable game, but I'm going to say this one was an anomaly. Mavs really wanted it. CP played like ***, Blake had his worst game of the season and we didn't have JJ. Yet, we still had a great chance to win.

The biggest anamoly was how well they shot. Literally Dirk and Wes hit virtually every single shot and our two best guys couldn't hit ****. Oh well, on to tomorrow.

I had th game dvr'd and this girl I work with text me right at 8pm telling me the Clippers lost -_-.

Paul Pierce would be ok if he wasn't out there airballing every three. I still think that the reason we can't rebound when he's on the floor is because Doc insists on playing him at the 4 with Smith at the 5. Play him at the 3 and keep Jamal glued to the bench. Play him at the 4, if you must, with DJ at the 5.

It's funny. Every year since CP3 has been here we've heard whispers about a decline in his game and he promptly ***** that up. The one year we don't hear anything like that is the year where it might aftually be happening. It's not even just his shooting/scoring. I've seen a lot more turnovers and a lot less assists so far. Maybe it's just me, but I think the stats would back up that claim (haven't looked). Anyway, I hve faith in him adjusting and turning jt on.

I don't think CP is completely right physically and its impacting his play. He had the finger thing in preseason, which I think is still bothering him. Then he had the hamstring injury against Golden State. I think we're deep enough that, if necessary, he can miss a few games to get right.

He was pretty bad last night. Terrible shooting. Some uncharacteristic and untimely turnovers and was basically getting cooked on defense by whoever he was guarding.

I think he'll be fine eventually, but I'm thinking maybe some rest will do him good. We'll see how he looks tonight though.

It's not just you, I've quietly pondered if this is the year where he finally "jumps the shark"

I don't know the numbers at all, but his turnovers and decision making seem to be way off. His shooting though his so vital to his game at this stage of his career and I feel like once his shot comes back to where it was last season, he'll be ok. I think they said he's playing with two bad hands or something and he has a groin that he's working through right now so hopefully once he's fully recovered off that we can take off.

More Wes Johnson / Josh Smith and less Jamal Crawford and Paul Pierce. I still want Paul on the floor, but not at the four.

Love the kid. He's like Crawford except instead of hoisting up contested two's and three's he'll get to the rim with his handle and first step. He also has the potential to be a really good spot up shooter too. Then he's lowkey becoming our top 3 defenders on the team too. And he's 23 years old.
Austin Rivers on floor: 98.8 DRtg Austin Rivers off floor: 104.1 DRtg
10 Clippers players have played 50+ total minutes this season. Austin Rivers leads the team in individual DRtg.

^^^ Austin was probably our best all around player last night. Blake's numbers were decent, but I think his emotions/frustrations got the better of him in the second half. He did not play well in the 4th quarter.

With JJ Redick being out, we should take a hard look at my boy CJ Wilcox. He can play man, he can shoot it, has size and would be a compliment to the 2nd unit. One less ball handler, one more shooter.

This has been said about him far too many times before

Would be fine with me, but I doubt Glen goes there. He's too beholden to his vets. I mean, it really is ridiculous how much time Jamal gets when you look at how well Lance and Wes have played.

Remember when we thought Doc might actually play Dawson :lol

I think Jamal, PP, Wes, Austin, and JJ would have to die for Doc to consider it.

At least he had an opportunity to decelop with the Jam.

Ironic that, now that Doc has actually done a solid job of GM-ing, his coaching is becoming a problem.

We are 5-3. If we win tonight, that'll put us at 6-3. Detroit is playing well, but saturday is a game we can definitely win. After the GS game next week this is what our schedule looks like:

@ PDX

vs TOR

@ DEN

vs UTA

vs NOP

vs MIN

vs PDX

vs IND

vs ORL

@ MIN

@ MIL

@ CHI

@ BKN

@ DET

vs MIL

All of those games are extremely winnable. If we can just not lose until we get to this point (

) we can really make some hay with this stretch. Between Cp's hands and groin, JJ Reddick's back, we're already beat up. But after saturday we get a four day break, which is much needed.
