OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2024-2025 SEASON THREAD

I still don't drink from that gsw goblet. Something in me tells me that they can be beaten consistently with the right personnel and game plan.

Easier said than done, I know. But I think the clips have the right personnel...game plan? Not so much, at least to date.

I do expect to see every team gsw faces in the playoffs to switch every single curry off ball screen and run all shooters off the 3 point line...especially in the corners. Along with switching any curry/green pnr. Giving Gsw to live with 2s instead of killing you with 3s.

Remember I said it...Gsw will win 72+ games and not make the finals.

Not saying we'll be the ones to get them for sure. But that's my prediction.

Spurs tried that tonight, running them off the 3pt line and living with 2's.

Too bad they(Spurs) matched that plan with 38% shooting midway through the 3rd.

Right and they tried it in the second game against gsw so what's your point?

Late pass for you

Point is Spurs don't have what it takes.

I agree with your whole post up there.
I'm simply saying, as did you they need the right game plan and personnel, which they have, what I believe they lack(as shown tonight) is the capacity to put it all together at once, for 5,6,7 games.

Spurs time is over. Discipline will get you a great record. It won't bring you a title without the personnel+game plan+ and most importantly, the ability to make "in game" adjustments.
Spurs can think about what needs to be done, they know what needs to be done, they just can't keep up with those kids on GSW who do all the same things as them, only better.

They can't stop Thunder/Clippers and they can't out score them(in a series 7 not one game mind you), so they will be fishing.

I think Clippers have a much better shot at beating GSW in 7, than Spurs, and of course we all know whose year it is...

I think fundamentally and coaching wise they are more prepared than any other team. But, maybe a half step slow in the legs.

Question is, will the clippers adopt some of those same philosophies? Coaches are so stubborn sometimes. They'd rather lose with their own ideals than win using someone else's. Doc especially.

Either way, it was a Gsw home game and you can only expect gsw to hold serve. I fully expect sas to do the same later this coming week.

SAS losing this last game had a lot to do with turning the ball over as well. defending GSW is just half the battle. you really MUST take care of the ball and be efficient on offense as well.

JJ, CP, DJ, Blake and Wes all out tonight. Green and Austin questionable.

Pablo Prigioni, Jamal Crawford, Luc Mbah a Moute, Paul Pierce and Cole Aldrich as the probable starters with C.J. Wilcox, Branden Dawson and Jeff Ayres the only other available players off the bench.

:lol

Might as well just call in the forfeit.

Wes and Austin are officially out.

Would have loved to see Blake, but I'm not that upset over it.

Crazy win. Cole World and Jamal are MVPs. Guess our bench can play.
Well to be fair, We have a top 6 bench in the league currently, and it was a top 3 bench during that span in which Blake missed those 45 games or so. This isn't to say that this bench is just going to kill it come playoff time, but the ceiling for this bench (and roster for that matter) is the highest it's been since 12'-13'.

We like to malign doc for his GM moves, and rightfully so. He isn't perfect. But my issue is that no one says anything when he gets things right as a GM. The Austin Rivers move won us 3 HUGE playoff games last season. In one year we went from Hedo, Jamal, Lester Hudson, Big Baby, Dantay Jones, Spencer Hawes, to Wesley Johnson, Cole Aldrich, Austin, Jamal, Pablo as a 3rd guard, Jeff Green, etc. That's a really good makeover in a year's worth of time. If we're going to kill him when he does stupid ****, you have to give him credit for legit making us deeper as a whole. We legit have 10, 11 playable good players come postseason. We haven't been able to say that in two years.

You're absolutely right. It took a while for things to come together, but this bench is better than last year's. Just crossing my fingers that Jamal doesn't pull his usual playoff disappearing act because he really has been sensational all season. I think there's a good chance that over the last few weeks he may have earned himself his 3rd 6th MOY award.

Yeah Jamal probably is the front runner for that award now. Since blake's been out, he's at like 17 a night on a probably 53, 54 win team.

Jamal really comes up short come playoff time so hopefully, with Jeff, and Austin, and Wes, and Cole surrounding him he won't have to be depended upon to do as much creating, resulting in better quality shot attempts, which should bold well for us.

Jamal also, quiet as it's kept, has been an above average defender this season. He's really turned back the clock a bit since Blake went down.

If Jamal steals 6MOTY from my man Will Barton....and plays like trash in the playoffs again.....

The whole East Baltimore is flying out to LA/SEA and giving him these hands.

:lol :lol

Bro the 6man award has never been given to someone who didnt make the playoffs. It'll go to Kanter even before Will.

He's had a fantastic year though. I personally had no idea he was this good

^^^ Also, hasn't Barton fallen off a bit lately? The last couple Nuggs games I watched, he couldn't hit a shot.

I think Jamal's competition is Iggy, Kanter and maybe Whiteside.

Lin, Whiteside or Kanter. Iggy missed to many games, and his raw production isn't up to par. Impact wise though...he's probably the best.

The public perception hasn't shifted to big men being 6moty yet though. So I can see a perimeter player getting it

Today is all about Blake's rhythm and the continued confidence amongst our support players. The latter especially is what I feel will determine our fate, so I wanna continue to see our bench play well and shoot and defend with confidence.

Blake at 1 for 6 so far in this game. Maybe he shouldn't have taken the last game off.

Have won 9 of 10, and Blake looked like himself in the 2nd half. Just as the last two seasons, we're coming on strong going into the playoffs.

Can't wait to next season. Am very interested in seeing this version of the Clippers going into the playoffs.

Yeah. Agree. Still expecting a second round exit, but now back to thinking that we really are the team with the best chance to take out the Warriors.

As am I. I've been of the belief that we'll lose to GSW in 5 games, and I'm still with that belief. Although I'm far more optimistic about our chances now than I was at any other point of this season. Today was a great showing because neither Blake or CP were offensive dynamos and CP especially was still able to control the game and we were able to handle the mavs with ease w/o any crazy offensive outputs. Bolds well for next weekend.

There's just a lot to genuinely like about this team. Relative to any other team in the CP era, this team's defense is off the charts and possesses the necessary defensive and lineup versatility to give GSW a series. We're the only team out west with Bigs that go Blake/DJ/Wes/Jeff Green/Cole. With the exception of cole, we can switch everything and live with the results IMO.

We're a top 7 defense this year and for me, the eyeball test supports it. The quartet of Rivers/Crawford/Johnson/Green and even Pierce here scares me with their potential inconsistency come playoff time, but that's a competent bench right there man and Doc deserves some credit for putting together one of the best defenses and benches in the league this season with little to no cap room to play with. We legit have 10, 11 playable guys which is important.

On another note, we've played most 7 game first round series of any west team since the CP era. Every series we've won (First round series obviously) has been in 7 games. That Shouldn't happen this postseason so I'm interested in this too, as far as how this will effect us. This is the first time believe it or not, that we out right should handle our first round series with little to no problems.
But We are the Clippers so...
