But did it transition into hits
Pac, snoop, busta, big, jay etc made more hits than nas
Y'all actually like King Kunte? I deleted that song. That and for free had me feeling like the album was about to be trash. Based off of King Kunte alone I almost gave this album the frisbee treatment. If I was listening to it on cd I would have thrown it out of the window like I did with God's Son CD.
Comparing this to God's Son is a capital offense homie
So u belittle one of the best poets of our time and simply call him an emcee? Lol. Nas has made countless artist go back and redo their album based off of his non hits... lol. u must be under 25 talking about "you know there's a difference between artist and mc right?"...Musically he wasnt upper echelon
As a mc hes top 10 all time, no doubt about it
You do know artist & mc are two different things

I'm amazed at the Generational split in this thread.
Me against the world, all eyez on me, the don killuminati werent flops
Thats 3 albums right there & you said only one wasnt a flop, stop it
When your biggest hit came off gods son i cant take you srs musically
Tupac had better sales after he was dead when he was when he was alive. So what does that say about Pac musically? The fact that people didnt even acknowledge you when you were alive? He dropped 3 album within just about a year and people bought them because he died. Facts.
Pac sold 5 mill & debuted as #1 while in prison with no real music video with him in it
Yall nas stans caping to the extreme
Why does no one mention 2pacalypse Now and Stictly for my N-I-G-**** albums? Both came out before MATW, in the early 90s. Also, Pacs acting career played a big part into his success. I'm a major 2pac and Nas fan, by the way. Name an artist other than, who is super conscious with commercial success. Maybe Common. "I Can" is Nas' biggest hit? LOL. "If I ruled the World" is on par with "Juicy" and, both songs sampled hit that first came out in the 1980s. But, can we keep this thread about Kendrick? I was gone relax on the Nas subject but, some people like speaking on things they don't know about.
FixedClose That Door likes speaking on things he don't know jack **** about.
I can is his highest charting single, doesnt that make it his biggest hit
Lauryn hill was the most successful conscious rapper
Dude said Michael Jackson became bigger after his death. I've heard it all now
Ummm. Didn't I say "which is wild?" Michael Jackson's estate is now worth over 1 billion. Yes, he became "bigger." Always been huge, but when he died, people ran to his music again to re-buy.
Its still a hit, what is your point
I can was nas biggest hit & it came out 9 yrs after nas released his "classic"
exactly, "re-bought" the same people who purchased more Michael memorabilia and albums already had stuff of his, and were familiar with him. Of course distributors are going to recycle the same stuff, for consumers to re-buy, to capitalize off his death...
