I don't know how old you are, but Pac wasnt as renowned as he is now when he was alive. His albums were flops aside from one. Yes, he made socially conscious music but it wasnt anything "trailblazing". Hip-Hop has always been socially conscious, this isnt new.


Snoop, Busta, Big, and Jay benefited from commercial success to fantastic marketing. Nas didnt make that kind of music, neither did anyone from Wu-Tang, are they less "artistic" than the latter?

Y'all actually like King Kunte? I deleted that song. That and for free had me feeling like the album was about to be trash. Based off of King Kunte alone I almost gave this album the frisbee treatment. If I was listening to it on cd I would have thrown it out of the window like I did with God's Son CD.

Comparing this to God's Son is a capital offense homie

King Kunte is that bad though. After that I was all good. Love every song after that, but that song is garbo. Legitimately one of the worst songs I've ever heard.

I'm not jumping into the Nas debate. But chill out with the Pac slander. Pac was the biggest hip hop artist out when he was alive. No one had or will have his influence. He just happened to become bigger (like most legends who die) once he died. Hell, even Michael Jackson became "bigger" once he died. Which is wild.

Chuck D, Rakim-types obviously but today, maybe Common. "I Can" is Nas' biggest hit? LOL. "If I ruled the World" is on par with "Juicy" and, both songs sampled hits that first came out in the 1980s. Okay. I'll say it like this then, what's wrong with "I Can" being a hit? The song had a great message and touched on topics that needed to be heard? If it were a grittier beat and had a darker vibe, would it have been on the radio? His song "poison" off Stillmatic has a similar vibe. But, of course it would not have been on radio, or had a video.

(All 15 and under) Because all of them said they didn't know who he was during the time he died. But they became fans due to all of his music and videos being played all day.
