Seriously. The worse I've slummed it is Converse and 1 pair of Grant Hill retro Filas. Other than that, I got only Nikes and Adidas.
I think of this differently than you guys. I wouldn't mind seeing him on another brand. It's better for people like us who buys shoes. I'd like to see someone challenge Nike a bit. Competition makes everyone better. Nike will have to elevate someone else. That's great.
Nike better match UA's deal. If not, they're in deep trouble. The Lebron 12's are ugly af and the Kobe X will have to be amazing. Also the thing is that the KD 7 has so much potential. I feel like the themes would look so nice on them and the thought of not having an N7 KD is worrisome.
The other brands are challenging nike from a performance standpoint. You wouldn't know it from a website called "NIKETALK". Competition ALWAYS benefits the consumer. ALWAYS.Nobody even comes close to challenging nike competitively when it comes to basketball shoes so you can end that thought.
And even if someone miraculously did it wouldnt benefit the consumers at all.
There is no company out there that doesnt see how many short cuts nike gets away with and says hey why cant we do that as well?
I hope kd stays but if he goes to ua oh well. If a shoe looks good and is comfortable ill cop no matter the brand.
I even got a couple of pony shoes lol
Kyrie, Harden, and Paul George (not so much now probably) were all slated to have sigs release this year.
nike should match. he took 10 mil (?) less for his first shoe contract and went with nike rather than adidas. kd is #2 player in the league. no kd + the chance of kobe having another season ending injury = only lebron left...
but happy for KD and happy that UA is throwing massive amounts of money at him.
and no one can really replace KD (or kobe) in the nike trio right now... nike has been smart about not giving semi-stars their own signature lines (harden, kyrie)... they would also be smart not to give a big a signature shoe (davis/lma)...
losing KD would suck pretty bad for nike
Just for some perspective:
Kevin Durant reportedly offered a 10-year deal worth $265 million (plus equity) from Under Armour. Sonics sold in '06 for $350 million.

Yes all NBA teams are worth way more now than they were 8 years ago. I'm sure the Thunder would sell for $700-900m if a team like the Bucks can sell for $550m.
06 was awhile ago... how much are the thunder worth today? after the clippers sale, i bet it's a lot more than 350 million
Food for thought. Impressive catch. Wearing sneakers to owning a team. We all get inflation but Mike bought the bobcats for 300 mill a few years back too. KD getting that qwap!

I'm surprised here. These actually have pretty solid traction from my experience.
Have you tried roughing them up a bit on asphalt or concrete first? That usually takes the slick layer of the soles that a lot of shoes come with brand new. I've found this to work pretty well
Yes, I am suggesting run a practice in them or play some pick-up -- not just walking around in them outside. Really give them a good go on the rough surface. This won't hurt the tread, it should help remove the somewhat slick layer that you get from them right out of the box.The court I play on is dirty but my WTKD stick to it fine, Kobe 9 sticks like glue. These slide like ice skates. I have yet to really play outside in them first bought them and brought them to my rec league. Tried to go outside at halftime and like wipe the soles on the concrete like i was wiping dog ___ off and that didn't work I had to go back to to my KD 6. So your suggesting playing a pick up game in them or run a practice in them on an outdoor court and then I should be fine? I LOVE the feel of this shoe, I want it to work so badly but I have to get them to lose the slickness. I have the GG and the 35k degrees to play in and haven't been able to in either yet!
