Lebron is getting $20. There's no way they give KD $30+. If the deal is firm and true, he is as good as gone. Remember KD said he is sick of being #2.Under armour offer is 325 million for 10 years with equity in the company let me go order my 35k now. All nike has to do is offer a few more years to even it out.
Everyone is hyper focused on the shoes (which is a big deal and I get, this is a shoe forum), but I'm excited for all the apparel. UA has the best apparel out there, hands down.
That's what I'm saying though. The money is what's going to bring him to Washington if he ultimately decides on leaving OKC. But it would be ignorant to think that Leonsis isn't involved somewhere/somehow in the background of these negotiations, because while UA isn't broke, 32 million dollars is a lot of money to give to an athlete either way you look at it.No one thinks UA is jsut a run of the mill start up company, but they're nothing compared to Nike. In terms of total revenue, net worth, market dominance, etc, Nike is superior in every facet.
Also, I think the whole "I'm coming home" Wizards angle is almost as dumb as people trying to sell the "I'm Coming Home" angle of Lebron. Lebron signed with the Cavaliers because of their talent, not because of some essay he wrote. If KD signs with UA, it'll be because of the big bucks (or lack thereof from Nike), not some contrived Maryland point of view.

I have a pair UA Spawn's and they're great shoes to ball in. Aesthetically nothing special, but solid basketball shoes.
Those of you that think UA is going down because they are offering so much money are trippin. This is exactly what they need to make them a serious contender to Adidas and Nike.
Steph Curry is like the appetizer, and KD will be the main course plus dessert.
Agreed. But it would at least create some nice competition between 1,2 and 3. And outside of LeBron, KD is a nice catch.A serious contender to Adidas, maybe, Nike, nope.
Until a couple of years ago when they started making better looking kicks, KD didn't even generate much revenue for Nike.
One player isn't carrying a brand unless it's Michael Jordan.
That's fine. IMO UA has better apparel that's often less expensive. It's not like I don't have Nike apparel, I do. Just think UAs is better.I don't agree
And what could they do that Nike isn't doing?
I have yet to see UA brand shirts that don't just have a UA on them.
I think with Durant and Curry, UA has the potential to slot in at the #2 spot in bball. It's no secret that Adidas is a futbol company. That's their bread and butter. They have done a good job with Rose and others, and I see kids rocking Adidas retro bball shoes all the time. I had a pair of Detlef Schrempfs back in the day myself. But he would be #1 at a #3 or #4 company
They didn't push him until the 5 according to Matt Powell. No KDs were in my city until the 5s . As soon as they made more of his shoes the revenue skyrocketed.A serious contender to Adidas, maybe, Nike, nope.

Of course they would have to give Lebron a raise even though he didn't even wear his own shoe. It would be dumb of Nike to let KD go considering they have nobody else right now andKobe has 2 more years and George just had a gruesome injury. I like Kyrie and harden but I don't think they could take over the number 2 and 3 spot in a couple of years when Kobe retires.Been reading the commentary for days thought id throw my 2¢ in. I think if Nike were backed into a corner like they were already this year with Kanye, adidas' $1.3 billion deal to take Manchester United away, and letting Arsenal go as well after 20 years I think they would say screw it and "let" KD go to UA. However since they freed up about $70 mil this year they would have enough money to keep KD. But to make KD the highest paid athlete over Lebron, Tiger, Rory, Kobe, CR7, Serena, Fed, Nadal, to even out this offer to UA...it's not looking good at all.
Kanye left but red October's still released. [emoji]128526[/emoji]

I wonder who owns the KD logo... KD himself or Nike? I would guess Nike but don't know.
