It's not THE reason, but it's a part of it. Can we talk about race without only talking about race? Is that possible?

BTW, it's paid, not payed.

Dude, he played at Harvard.  Its not Duke, Kentucky, or UNC but it's still a well respected program who jumps in and out of the top-25 rankings.  National TV, playing against high-ranked teams, what more do you want? Did he prove at Harvard that he deserved to be playing on live TV every single night? No.  Get over it- he was NOT overlooked the way most people believe.
Harvard wasn't ranked at ALL during Lin's 4 year stint there.  Just stop while you're behind... please.

You said absolutely nothing here.

Did you even click on the link I provided? 1 of 2 to have those stats that year. The other player was the #2 pick in the draft.

I didn't know Ivy Leagues don't give scholarships, but a good friend of mine was being recruited by them and they told him they would cover tuition. So there's your loophole. Do you think Jeremy Lin "paid" (Thank you Hank Moody) for his tuition?

According to you guys I am wrong, but I can assure you it has nothing to do with my race. Rather, a disbelief or denial that someone would look over him because of his race.
Edit: And by disbelief/denial I mean that if I was a recruiter it would not cross my mind what race a player is.  But ok maybe I am talking out of my culo.

Yes, make up facts when you've been proven wrong.  When Jeremy Lin himself has stated race was a factor, who experienced and overcame those hurdles, I'll believe him.  Assure me? Who the $%+% are u? stupid as all hell

I'm actually Jeremiah's second cousin. MSG network told him to give that answer first.  Glad you're done, though.

if i remember correctly, stanford kinda screwed him over. they had two scholarships and trent johnson promised him one if one of two recruits he targeted were to turn down the team. i think one kid did, however, they went on and gave the scholarship to another kid and asked him to walk on. from there, lin was disappointed and took his talents somewhere else. forget pac10 (i didnt think he was gonna get one back then when i heard about him and saw a couple games), but im shocked he didnt get any looks from all the other schools in the west coast.

It's all dependent on your parents income level... you receive need-based financial aid depnding on how much $ your parents make... some schools though, have better overall financial aid (Harvard, Yale, Princeton) which gives them advantage over the other teams in the league

For the guy that said Harvard is really good... they are now, but they weren't even close to that same level when Lin was recruited there... I think they won 8 games his sophomore year if I'm not mistaken

Also your silly if you don't think coaches subconsciously account for race when recruiting

Do the words black and quarterback ring any bells?

Yea, pretty much^

Ivy's don't give athletic scholarships, but they do give need-based financial aid. Actually I believe Harvard was one of the best at providing aid because their endowment fund (pre-2008) was doing so well.
