i can still get the same themes right??Originally Posted by just reason
^^ you can try the app backup in cydia and see if it backups what themes you used.. but other than that you can't back up a theme..
In your SSH client, mine is WinSCP, Go all the way up, to see all of your folders, it should say / <root> and then go to Library >Themes, and copy those to your desktop and when your jailbroken again, just copy those to the same place.Originally Posted by dalilboy

same here, you dont have to re-restore it. Just update and then turn on winpwn and redo everything. It doesn't erase your stuff.Originally Posted by 23MichaelJordan45

Me.
Use the same ones. I did, it was successful.Originally Posted by rwfanatic
I wanna update today, so I'm curious can I use the same 3.9 and 4.6 BL that I still have saved from the 2.1 update or do I really have to d/l all that all over again?
Yes, I clicked 'Update' in iTunes, then it finishes and my iPhone shows 'Connect to iTunes' screen, and I run QuickPwn. And thenI sync all my stuff.Originally Posted by rwfanatic
Alright thanks, I hate having to d/l that restore file though... it takes so long, also putting all my music back on is a pain also. Definitely do not look forward to that process.
edit: Quick question though, has anyone actually clicked the "update" as opposed to holding shift + restore to go to 2.2?
Select your iPhone from the list of devices on the left. Now hold down shift and click the Restore button. Restore is preferred as it won't create any wasted space on your iPhone.
Okay I was curious based on this statement that I read over on iclarified... I might just do it that way then.

So you just hit update, then when it finished, you saw the connect to iTunes screen on your iPhone, and then ran QuickPwn?Originally Posted by rwfanatic
So I just updated instead of restoring to the 2.2 software and I just found out that when you do it this way you do not lose your music, apps, texts, nothing. Sweet!
What do you mean 'other'?Originally Posted by rwfanatic
Yep, exactly... would you happen to know what exactly is stored under the "other" category?
I think video, music, photos, apps...Originally Posted by rwfanatic
in itunes when you have the phone connected and it has that bar on the bottom of the page.
