i wish Theon slit that dudes throat while he had the chance
that scene was too tense, I wanted him to kill him too but now with king joff dead, he is my new favorite villain.  Kind of hope Theon gets his revenge, though I think he is to the point of no return.

I keep hearing that Theon's torture is way worse in the book...I may have to google that but can anybody shed some light?

^Remember the 1st scene from episode 2 of this season? In the book, it is Theon that is being hunted. Just one example :D

I didn't even recognize "The Rains of Castamere" playing at the wedding. I tend to tune out the back ground music while listening to the dialogue.

Didn't recognize it until the ending credits...

When Pod da gawd was mirin' that contortionist at the wedding I started to laugh.

^ Prince Tommen is up next on the line of succession. Margaery as a queen is voided because of Joffrey's death. This means Cersei will act as queen regent until Tommen comes of age.

how so? I mean they got married---she's queen. I don't see how him dying has anything to do with it.... I've never heard in the history of monarchy that once a king dies his queen is no longer "queen."

Unless I'm missing something.....

There's not a single rule for monarchies. Some allow women to rule, while some require men and it passes along to the next male heir.

Which would be Tommen because Joffrey didn't have kids. She might still be "queen" but without the power. Or she'll be paired with Tommen. She's still young, beautiful, and from a powerful house and she never consummated the marriage.

Im pretty sure the fact that the females in Westeros since they hold no power that wouldnt work out. She has no kids so who would rule after her?

She cant just go have a bachelorette type event and pick a man it doesnt work like that. On top of that her husbands always die so im sure nobody worthy want that

If anything they'll just toss Joff little brother at Margery.  Much like how Catelyn was suppose to marry Ned's older brother.  Just marry the next one.  They weren't bedded, so she still "pure"

Queen to what? She doesn't have any heir. Plus this is Westeros, they go by male succession.

I watched it again I think yall might be reaching with the Olenna taking a jewel from Sansa theory, the camera pans to Sansa right when Tyrion gets up to hand him the goblet and it doesn't look like a jewel is missing from her necklace. Also there's a moment after Joffrey cuts the pie and the birds fly out when the camera zooms in and we see a dead bird inside, I think the pie was poisoned not the wine

Either way I think Sansa and Olenna knew it was coming because she wanted to leave as soon as he took a bite, not to mention The Fool telling her to go

When I read the Purple Wedding in the book I always assumed Dantos did it

But now I think Olenna did it somehow

i know that, i just don't see any point where Olenna could have put poison in Joffrey's goblet herself. everyone drank the wine, only joffrey ate the pie
Only Joffrey drank from the cup. Joffrey even pointed to the cup as he was dieing.

Oh ok, thought you meant you felt that the poisoned pie killed the birds. Gotcha

Its the same thing that happened to Cersei. When Robert died Joffrey became king; she wasn't the sole ruler of westeros just a stand in until he was able to. And if they could have proved the case of the kids not really being Robert's, Stannis would be king by rights and Cersei would just be a lady. Since Margaery and Joffrey don't have kids, his little brother is king by rights, Cersei is back to being stand in ruler since he's a kid, and Margaery is just there.

Joffrey, Cersei, Margaery, Tommen, doesn't matter which one of these useless people are on the throne, Tywin going to run everything.
