Morally I feel like I should because there were thousands of people who lost their lives and all the corruption involved makes me sick.

This World Cup feels almost like an obligation. I’m sure the players want to win no matter what, but the human rights issues, terrible scheduling, and the higher probability of players being overworked and injured before and after the tournament really took a toll on a lot of people’s excitement.
There were a lot of issues with the prior few World Cups too, with Russia’s human rights issues and Brasil’s economic corruption, but they still ended up being able to provide a festive atmosphere that had fans tuning in weeks before the games even started.
