He just told them they could. Listen.....there's nothing wrong with not being right. It happens to all of us.
But when you're wrong and you're adamant that you're right and you're reaching and grasping and doing everything you can to not admit it.....it's embarrassing.
But I'm not wrong though. As it pertains to the original source material, there is no mention of Beerus or Whis. The Kai's never mentioned it until as of recent. Yes, Toriyama created Beerus and Whis but they are not canon. They aren't in the original 42 volumes, just like Broly or Pikkon even though Toriyama was present for their inception.
If you're right then Toriyama must be wrong. For you to be right, the creator himself must be wrong. It's that simple.

Garlic Jr is the only movie that's canon.

Lookin at this picture, looks like everybody gonna flourish. (I hope)
Wait, so everybody grows their tails back?

Why don't any of the half-saiyans have tails?

Who's the female version of Goten over there?

Why is Goten Yamcha 2.0?

Why is Gohan different everytime we see him?

Why does Trunks look like a street fighter character?

Why is Bulma 22 again?

Why is Piccolo lighter?

Who does that arm in the corner belong to?

Why did Goku and Vegeta choose blue?

Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z Super? Super Dragon Ball.

Being present for the conception doesn't make it canon. The original source material is canon, but everything Toriyama retcons into the official story is canon. Like in the interview when he explains that bills was the God that sealed elder kai in the sword. Or when vegetas brother was mentioned in Battle of the Gods. Which Toryima stated was canon. Canon means it's in the official DBZ storyline of events

It's truly all about how Toriyama feels. Toriyama created Bojack and Broly himself yet it isn't considered canon because it doesn't really fit into the main story (well Bojack does at least.) GT isn't canon, though it fits in the main story because Akira didn't create it...

In my mind, it's DB, DBZ, DBGT. All the movies are just what if scenarios like from marvel comics. I want to see how Super fits in

It's not about your mind. It's about canon, which right now consist of DB, most of DBZ, DBS, the Garlic Jr movie, Battle of Gods, and Revenge of Frieza.

EDIT: And you just said BoG and RoF are not canon because they werent in the source material but you are including DBGT even though it also isnt source material

GT fits in the story, Toriyama gave his blessing to the project but then came back and said it's not his vision. Are we not going off his vision? He created Bojack, Bojack fits into the story. Has he ever personally addressed that film as not being canon? Do we say it's canon just like battle of the gods or Toriyama has to put his official spoken stamp?

If you are basing it off his vision then wouldnt he be the one to say what is and isnt canon? So if he says only those 3 movies are canonical then how can you argue with that? And DBGT does not fit the story now that DBS, Battle of Gods, and Revenge of Frieza are out/on their way.

Second of all can a vision not change? Was your vision for what you want in the future the same when you were a kid as it is now?

Like I said it's not about whether Toriyama created it or not it's about whether or not he places it into the official timeline. GT isn't canon because what happens after dragon ball z is already described in dragon ball online which, believe it or not, is the real canon continuation of dragon ball z.

There's a difference between a creator lending some concepts and ideas (Because Kishi and Oda have both done the same for the majority of the movies based off of their works) and completely creating the work itself (The Last, Strong World, Battle of the Gods) and acknowledging it as canon.
