Official AUTHENTIC NBA JERSEY Post - Bringin Back the JERSEY ERA... (Info/Guide = Page 1)

Over 2 decades (2001-2023) of Clippers jerseys…and heartache 💔

I visited the Team LA store in Crypto.com Arena on Thursday after calling them earlier that day about the Bibigo patches they had in stock. When I got there, I realized the lady on the phone gave me wrong information because the only patch they had didn't match with the current Statement Lakers jersey I have.

Upon seeing the batch of patches they had, they actually looked identical to the ones that are sold on eBay.

My question is are the sponsor patches that are sold on eBay the same as the ones that come affixed on the retail versions sold at the arenas?

I believe there was a prior discussion on here that the sponsor patches on the authentic jerseys are replicas even if they are sold at the arenas.

Are the affixed patches on the retail versions different from the ones the players wear?

I admit I'm a meticulous weirdo who really cares about having my authentics resemble what the players wear for accuracy reasons.

Would it be any different or perhaps wrong if I get a Bibigo patch from eBay that resembled the ones from Team LA to apply on a jersey?

Those should be primarily their blanks to sell, but no they should be the same. It's just a sublimated patch but the pros & authentics get theirs stitched while the swingmans are heat pressed. I've gotten a few from the dubs team shop and compared them to the replicas. The color is dull for the replica ones. Also with the previous square style were a tad smaller. I have some comparison pics saved on my phone.

The sponsor patches sure did appear sublimated on the players' jerseys whenever I saw games on TV. The letters and graphics on the sponsor patches never looked embroidered to me.

Coincidentally, I recently learned about the two differing methods of how sponsor patches are affixed on a particular jersey version when I inquired with the Team LA store.

I guess I should view the replica sponsor patches the same as authentic jerseys because those jerseys are basically a replica of what the players wear, albeit in the form a superior quality copy.

That's helpful you noticed the slight differences between the replicas and the ones from the team shop. Please elaborate on what got from the team shop in particular. Perhaps you can share those comparison pics eventually.

But the other inquiry that wasn't answered was about the patches sold on eBay. Are they the same replica versions that the team stores affix on the retail jerseys? There's a seller based in Hong Kong that has a good selection of patches that correlate with the jerseys I have. But a lot of bootleg goods on secondary markets come from Asian countries. I need a Wish patch for my Lakers jerseys and eBay is the only option I have. I just don't want to get counterfeit stuff to affix on a legitimate authentic jersey if that makes sense.

Admittedly, I’ve sat idly by as your inquiries have gone unanswered. I’ve posted a comparison picture below which will hopefully end the speculation. The white patch came pre-sewn from the team store. It is thicker and has a more cotton/ fabric feel. The yellow is an after market purchase from eBay. It’s thinner and has a more “plastic” texture to it. Don’t mind the shoddy single stitch sew job.

And yes, getting a “bootleg patch” on an authentic jersey is a big deal. Quite frankly, it should be capital offence. But, you gotta do what you gotta do…

And as aside, you are correct that a lot of bootlegs come from Asian countries. But almost all of the legit goods also come from Asian countries too… mind blown!

I'm late like an idiot for replying to this. But thanks for your informative and detailed post! The differences you elaborated are certainly noticeable.

The textures between the patches do look absolutely different. The font details with the letters are also slightly different.

If you need a patch affixed to a jersey in the future, I would like to recommend you to send your stuff to Exclusive Pro Sports in Illinois because they specialize in working with jerseys.

I guess getting an aftermarket, replica, bootleg, etc. patch isn't horrendous if it's the only option you have if you want to emulate the look of the pros if you're a meticulous weirdo like myself. I believe the bigger offense would be having a bootleg jersey instead. I'm just concerned with an authentic jersey being possibly "tarnished" with an aftermarket patch on it.

You are also correct that a significant amount of legitimate goods come from Asian countries, primarily from the third world countries, because a lot of American companies outsource manufacturing to them to reduce overhead.

Here are some sponsor matches I'm looking into for my Lakers jerseys that are on eBay:

I'm looking to get this one for the Association (white) jersey I have. It has to be a Wish patch for accuracy reasons because the jersey I have has the 16x championships on the back collar.

I'm looking to get this one for the Statement (older style purple) jersey I have from this seller based in Hong Kong.

I'm looking at this one for the Icon (yellow) jersey I have. It has to be a Bibigo patch because it's a jersey with the 17x championships on the back collar. It's from the same Hong Kong seller.

I'm looking at this one for the more current Statement jersey I have. It's from the same Hong Kong seller.

I'm hoping these are acceptable to affix on my jerseys since it's the only option I have for patches.

Hey NT fam....I am purchasing my first authentic Nike wnba jersey. Does anyone own one and know the fit of these?
