I believe allum. The foam will crumble over time so it’s a waiting game for either the air unit or the foam.
Does the current af1 have air units?

Black/yellow mids. Can’t remember the year but early 2000s. Had the navy/gray leather mids till earlier this year when the air bottomed out.

Thanks for the responses. I know '01 jordan 1s were made different. They too had a unit that crumbled in the midsole, but my '94 1s feel just as comfortable as any 2015-present retro. As far as I know it was only '01 1s that had that problem so wasn't sure if that applied to af1s as well. That's enough reason for me to stay away from older pairs. I couldn't stand my linens anymore and sold them.
