Gunner played well given the circumstances. It was the first start of his career playing against the top 10 defense and he had no running game to lean on and he still looked better than Drew Allar (who apparently some people think is going to be an NFL QB). I think the future is bright for Gunner.
Wait, you think that’s was a good performance? Y’all couldn’t move the ball.

From Cam Ward to Beck? Woof
There weren’t any other options . Landing a Top 5ish College QB this late in the transfer portal is great. Mario the QB rehabber :pimp:

I think it was a good performance given the circumstances, it was his first career start and Notre Dame has a really good defense. We had struggled to move the ball against a good defenses even with Carson for most of the season😂.

In the first start of his career Gunner looked better than Carson has for most of the season. Gunner certainly wasn't the limiting factor. Georgia lost because of poor offensive line play and wide receiver drops.

I expect Gunner to improve a lot with an off-season getting all the reps and our improved weapons.

Yea, not excited about signing a guy that just blew out his elbow.

He def won't be Cam. :(
Could be worse

Could have this guy coming to Miami

You really believe that?

Purdy had the same injury and came back months later. There’s no other Cam Ward out there.

I’m on record thinking Zach Branch is overrated and will blame Bobo for the offense more than anything. We’ll see what next year looks like for sure.

Yes. I truly believe that. I've watched every snap of Carson's career. Carson isn't the only issue with the Georgia offense but we won A lot of games in spite of him this year. We would have lost to Notre Dame even if Carson were playing. Carson wasn't the only issue but he was an issue.

That being said, I do expect him to improve and rehabilitate himself next year.

Honestly, I can't really give you an assessment on Branch because I haven't watched him play that much. You could be right. Bobo was the same OC that made Carson look really good in 2023. Bobo isn't an elite coordinator but he is good enough. Any coordinator would be a drop off after having Todd Monken (who might be the best OC in all of football at this point).

IMO most of the issues were due to personnel. Particularly poor offensive line play, some QB regression and wide receiver drops. Your playbook is limited when you can't block and your receivers can't catch. I tribute some of the QB regression to Carson Beck lacking confidence in the offensive line (he started to get happy feet and some of the INTs he threw were due to pressure in his face).

We will see. I know a lot of Georgia fans want to get rid of Bobo but I think oftentimes the OC is the easy scapegoat when players aren't executing.

Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers. Mike Bobo has been a bad OC dating back to Richt. Kirby hiring him was insane to me at the take and surprised that Buster Faulkner isn’t taking that job yet. But yea, in this parity era where Georgia can’t just hoard talent then I think your OC will matter more. If your OC needs a crazy talent advantage to look good, then it’s probably not a good sign. Georgia doesn’t develop WRs well, and now has a mid-running game? And you’re going from a QB who has played a ton of football to one that has played very little.

Gunner Stockton played great for what he was working with. I’m excited to see this young man shine.
