atlsfinest atlsfinest so Kirby is about to get rid of Mike Bobo, the leader of UGA’s great passing offense?

We'll see. Honestly, I'm not nearly as critical of Bobo as others. We are limited by a weak receiving core and poor offensive line play. If you receivers can't catch balls hit them in the hands and you can't block, it shrinks the playbook.

This is the worst running game Georgia has had in 30 years. Not really sure how much you can put on the OC for this but at the end of the day, he's a guy who's going to get blamed.

Y’all have highly rated transfers and HS kids all through the position group. But yea, hiring Stacey Searels you knew that your OL play was going to eventually take a dip. He stinks.

It's all relative. Yes, compared to all but 3-4 teams in the country, Georgia has OL at an elite level but compared to how Georgia was recruiting under Sam Pittman, there has been a drop off. We're getting good players (top 200) but we're not getting the elite Andrew Thomas, Amarius Mims, Broderick Jones type of prospects we were getting in the past.

Offensive line play has gotten worse every year.

We won the championship in 2022 with Searles as OL coach butt all of those guys were recruited by the prior OL coaches. OL play was good for the most part last year not as good as 2022 and we struggled against Alabama in the SEC title game and this year there was a distinct drop off.

Georgia is facing the same issue at WR. Yes, Georgia has recruited at a top three level for several years but they've done a poor job of recruiting WRs. Between the 2021-2024 recruiting classes, Georgia hadn't recruited a single top 100 receiver. The last five-star receiver to sign with Georgia was George Pickens in 2019.

What if Texas wins the title?

Everyone gonna walk all that back? :lol

They’re not really a SEC team tho. They just joined this year. If anything, the fact that they’re the last SEC team remaining kind of proves the point. The Alabamas and Georgias of the world have lost their edge.

When Texas joined, the fans of the traditional SEC programs said they would get bullied and they did just fine.

If Oregon won out, Big Ten was def claimin that ****, not the Pac 2. :lol

Backstory of why I’m a fan of all of these teams

1. UGA- I used to laugh when someone would post the UGA going back in his cage gif. One day I got fed up and atlsfinest atlsfinest is one of the coolest people on this site so I was all in.

2. ND- I hated that school for how their fans treated Ty’s daughter Cassie and Brian Kelly being responsible for a young man’s death made me despise them. But then, they hired Mrs. Freeman’s husband and I became a fan and will continue to roll with Marcus because of his large family and his fresh cut.

3. Miami- This goes back to the old days when C CP1708 pushed back against Chester and Dr. Funk for accusing Miami of Pell grant fraud and having a training table full of cocaine.

4. USC- Lendale White was from Colorado and I really liked watching the Reggie Bush team play.

5. tOSU- I grew up a fan because my dad went there for school but I grew to hate that squad when Urban took over. Ultimately became a fan because witnesskb24 witnesskb24 is a solid person and I liked how many of the brothas got a chance to be QBs. That and I didn’t like how the racists pushed Justin out of Georgia.

6. Michigan- When harbs finally got his QB and it was revealed that Moore has a WHITE 🫅, they have a fan for life.

7. Colorado- My cousin played for Slick Rick so I was a fan initially but then Eric “The Enemy “ made me hate the program but I will ride for the local team

Every little bit of my Gator identity is triggered rn from one person appreciating these teams at one time. **** all those teams forever :lol
The reality is that I used to actually like UF and FSU because of the “Florida Speed” and would 😃 when the Buffs (when I hated them) got run out the building. The Urban years and how they would never give Charlie Strong a chance because he married a WHITE 🫅 made we despise them. Learning out the Gator Bait song also made me root against them but If they hire a brotha as their next coach I’m back in the fold.

If I recall it was Gunna that clowned Dre and FSU when they first unveiled the unconquered uniforms only to get beat. 😂 😂. The memes were legendary

Yeah the ol boys club influence on UF isn't good. **** still happening today on and off the field. **** Ben Sasse.

nako xl nako xl I didn't even realize he was at Utah

From the couple games I saw from him while at UW he still looked very raw and had lots of work to do. I also didn't know he was at Utah. Guy attended my HS rival school (well every other schools rival really as they are a private Catholic school that claims to not recruit but everyone knows otherwise). But in reality my school's football and bball programs were buns smh.

Doubt it cause it’s likely true. With so much money being involved in where guys play, choosing to play for a constant contender for the chip isn’t the priority.

The statement from Urban by itself confirms the sec dominance which a lot of folks have a hard time acknowledging.

Q: Many fans of Gator athletics protested the decision to discontinue the tradition, saying that there is nothing racist about the chant. By your account, they’re likely correct. What’s your response?

A: I understand and appreciate that perspective. As a historian, though, I study the changes that have occurred and, more often than not, the changes have been for the better. Many years ago at UF, there was another controversial tradition at Gator football games. At the end of the band’s pre-game show, several students dressed in Confederate uniforms fired a cannon, whereupon the band marched off the field playing “Dixie” and students holding large cards created an enormous image of the Confederate flag in the stadium’s student section. This tradition went uncontested until the late 1960s, when the first Black marching band members raised their voices against playing a song that symbolized hundreds of years of racial oppression. A hot debate about “Dixie” ensued, but band director Richard Bowles did the right thing and removed it from the band’s playlist. Letters from irate alumni poured in to the university in response, but the decision stuck.

Playing “Dixie” and chanting “Gator Bait” are not as dissimilar as you might think. In the 1960s, supporters of “Dixie” argued that the song, itself, was not hateful and, given time, the song would eventually lose its racist associations. That view was rather naïve given the song’s history as the marching tune for the Confederate army and as an anthem for modern white supremacists. In the case of Gator Bait, the associations are not as widely known as they were with “Dixie.” In fact, it is only in recent years that the previous meaning of the term was brought to our attention. But, once you see how that phrase was used in early 20th century Florida, it becomes impossible to disassociate it from the current usage. Gator sports events should be a joyous time for everyone, and that will not be the case if a tradition, be it “Dixie” or “Gator Bait,” conjures up dark and sinister images from the past.

How could you leave of the greatest college ever?

The Trump University Patriots!

And some of you guys think bowl games are going away. Even if the stadium is completely empty there will still be non-cfo bowls

The ratings bump could be associated with America’s newfound gambling addiction. In any event, “bowl season is dead” is such a tired old take. It’s not going anywhere. There’s just too much money at stake.

Tv ratings are made up stats. They’ll show whatever you want them to show. Especially in the streaming era.

But that also goes to say… with MORE access than ever and more demand for diverse content, people who argued that fewer options during the holiday tv season was the way to go don’t know anything.
