I wouldn’t call that a lateral move unless he was DC in name only at OU and Venables was still calling the defense.

If he was calling the D and still decided to jump that’s a bad sign.

I tried to tell you guys of the summer. Oklahoma needs to get used to being a mediocre a mediocre SEC team. They're going to become SEC Nebraska

Oklahoma fans are losing their minds over this but I don't think this is a crazy take at all. In fact, it's kind of how I feel about the future of Oklahoma in the SEC. They are going to go from being the first or second most talented team in the Big 12 to being the 5th or 6th most talented team in the SEC on any given year.

Oklahoma isn't going to have as much success simply because they are going to play a more difficult schedule and play more talented teams on a weekend and week out basis.

Naturally they are going to go from a team that is the favorite or co-favorites to win the conference in the Big 12 to being a team that might make the playoff every 3-4 years in SEC. I don't think this is some slight to Oklahoma, it's just reality.

There's nothing wrong with all P4 champs getting bye's. It should be the reward for winning your conference

There should be no byes. I would prefer that they keep all the tournament rankings secret and do the work like they do in basketball. After all the games and conference tournaments have been played, pick the best 12 teams and have them settle it on the field

Gonna see a 2-3 loss non champ SEC team with a bye and a 3 loss Alabama in over a 0-1 loss B12, ACC, or G5

The only reason we have a playoff is money. And that comes with a 7 week tv show where they can sell ads and hype up the playoff.
