Official 2023 San Francisco Giants Off-Season Thread - Jung Hoo Lee signs with SF 6-years $113 Million

He earned it - I'll give him that.

And he got a full no trade clause - which I understand where he's coming from, though I wish it wasn't in his contract.

Pence 5 Years / 90 Mil

I don't hate but I don't really like it. I think 5 years is 2 years too long. But as far as frre agency I get it if we don't offer it to him someone else would have.

As far as the offseason

Question marks with the 5th spot in the rotation.

Which Brandon Belt will we see in 2014 first half of 2013 or 2nd half.

The bullpen could use 1 or 2 new arms.

Eric Surkamp and Mike Kickam can either be serviceable if called upon :{

I hope Lopez comes back

A new left fielder (a home run hitter would be nice 8o)

Gary Brown... if not now when?

Zito came thru when it mattered most. He righted all his wrongs in the 2012 playoffs. Got nothing but love for zeets! :smokin

At what point will fans stop blaming the players and start blaming the front office? Nobody's turning down the money they throw at them.
Never disliked Zito, wasn't his fault.

Too much money for what he brings to the table, but I like the 2 year part a lot.

He might not be as good as he was in the past, but in his prime he was one of the most exciting players to watch and is still one of my favorite players of all time. Plus he was a key member in getting us that 2010 WS. I'll always want him on the team no matter what

I agree that 2/35 is a lot for what he is bringing, but the pitching free agent market is really weak this year.

I like that it is only for 2 years. We should be seeing some of our young guys coming up by then.

Plus Timmy is very popular in the Bay and I am sure the Giants are going to continue to make a pretty penny off the Timmy merch.

what a terrible take.

as if he didnt already get paid for his previous achievements

I get it a lot of the names on the 2013 FA list are on the worng side of 30. We don't have the prospects or the balls to go after a guy like David Price so it does make sense. As long as this doesn't stop us from going after a legit left fielder which it shouldn't I guess I can live with it. So were looking at 1.3-1.5 million per win... if the bats show up and perform maybe we see a return on the investment come playoff time if not |I

Might as well bring Mulder out of retirement too.

:lol JP

Huddy is my dude, wish him the best.

What do you guys think of Josh Johnson? He made it public that he wanted to come here or SD.

He had an awful year last year but I'm a huge fan. Don't see it happening though with contracts from Hudson, Lincecum and Vogelsong I'm sure is next.

Cain
Bum
Hudson
Lincecum
Vogelsong

I have a feeling the left fielder we need isn't coming.

I like the signing of Hudson.

Still waiting on that power bat in left field. >:

Hudson is better than Vogelsong and Zito, had a better year than Lincecum, plus he's only getting paid half of what Timmy got last year. I like the signing.

Johnson was bad last year but I think I'd still take a chance on him with Crick, Stratton, and Blackburn not being ready for another couple of years. Contract pending, of course.

It isn't coming.  Bobby Evans was on the radio recently and said that we were looking for a right handed bat to come in and platoon with Blanco in left. I almost threw up in my car when I heard that.

I fully expect us to get another starting pitcher, and not make any splash for a left fielder.  I see Corey Hart or Michael Morse being best case scenario....which is also vomit inducing.
