Official 2023 San Francisco Giants Off-Season Thread - Jung Hoo Lee signs with SF 6-years $113 Million

I'll get over this quickly, sure it sucks but us fans have gone through this 32 times this year.

Flawed teams get exposed in pressure moments and that is what happened.

Great series, great season fellas. You guys are true Champions, you'll be in it again next year, zero doubt. *Tips cap* Respect.

Fitting we lose this way. Gas can bullpen throwing lobs over the plate even little leaguers can hit em out like hank Aaron. Romo and casilla are no longer wanted and the entire bullpen can go with them. Who is the law guy anyways? Dude is corny as hell always waving his towel but can't get a guy out. He had one job... on a side note I'm really happy cubs can finally erase the bartman/btg curse. No way doyers or nationals beat cubs. Blue jays can give them grief and series can go 7 games. Indians can't hang. Wonder if Sammy sosa will make an appearance. Prob nobody will recognize him [emoji]128514[/emoji]

Cubs blue jays in World Series. AL has home field advantage this year as always.

The past two games were a roller-coaster. Unfortunate way to end the series, but a microcosm of the season as a whole.

Casilla was crying in the locker room after the game, we should have used him before Law TBH

Casilla should not have used in any type of save situation. Maybe as a set up in the 8th if we had a decent lead and Moore needed to come out.

Law was our best reliever this season so it should have def been his spot if not Moore. What really got me was taking out Law after one batter to put in Javi :{

Casilla letting it all out reminds me of Trunks in DB Super. Finna be like "I just wanted to help" and "If blowing a save is a sin idc" and transform into Super Casilla?

So what power bat and closer are we getting this offseason ? Cespedes and Chapman?

Law threw 35 pitches in 2 innings of shutout relief work last night. He was tired. Romo threw 32 pitches last night. He was also tired. Does anyone know if Moore let Bochy know he was done?

Moore didn't interfere with the decision. Admits he kinda just went with it. I think he was lost in the sauce at that point.

This is what I don't understand. Why would Bochy go to Romo over Strickland when Romo pitched a lot  AND gave up a HR?

Moore seemed to pitch well in the 8th. Why not let him back in the 9th and have him try to get an out or two before bringing in someone for the final out?

That bullpen meltdown is the perfect representation of how this season went for the Giants. Unbelievable.

Law has had a solid season. Like what Lightweight said, he threw 35 pitches for 2 innings and was probably tired.

I get folks are making a comparison to 2002. But IMO, it's far from that. We didn't have any WS rings yet lol. So it doesn't hurt as much as it did.

It didn't matter who was out there. Bullpen as a whole sucked. Don't matter if everyone argues why didn't bochy do this or why didn't he put in so and so. They all suck! He knows his bullpen suck.

I am curious to see how Sabean/Evans will be building this bullpen.

Gillaspie/Nunez platoon at 3B? Does Kelby stay as a utility man?

Who replaces Peavy in the rotation? Is it the last we see of Matt Cain?

Does the Giants go out and sign a power hitting LF? Cespedes?

But just read he won't opt of his current contract. (Which is smart, he's getting paid)

I dont know if its because the last 2 months have prepared me for this, if I have learned over time to not be greedy, or what the reason is.....but I am not nearly as upset about last night as I should be (or a lot of you are).  All I could do last night was shake my head and laugh.  I wasnt even mad.  It was almost as if deep down, I expected this to happen.

This bullpen needs to be completely rebuilt.  If I am Evans, the only 2 pitchers who I want back are Law and Smith (not because Smith was good, but because we gave up our top freakin prospect for him).  We have money to spend.  Spend most of it on the damn bullpen please!

As awesome as Gillaspie was for us this postseason, he deserves nothing more than a bench spot on this team.  Nunez is the far superior player, and I would be shocked if he is not an everyday player for us.

I think the Peavy replacement is already here.  Ty Blach.  I think its nice that we wont really have to focus on starting pitching this offseason. Madbum, Cueto, Moore, Samardzija and Blach is a top 5 rotation in baseball, maybe better.  I dont think we have seen the last of Cain.  I think he will be a full time long reliever for us.  I think we have seen the last of him as a starter, and next year will be the last we have seen of him in a Giants uniform period.

My guess is we dont sign Cespedes, although we really should make a legit run at him.  We need power so bad.  Belts 17 HR as a team leader is beyond pathetic.
