What else can he throw besides a slider?

That fastball in missed by 3 feet!

Try it again. EVERYONE knew the slider wasn't working he hits the fastball then so be it. Tip your cap move on.

I consider myself a baseball guy above any other sport. There are vey few times, if ever, that I am stumped by rules or things of that nature. So I was watching the game while eating dinner at a restaurant. So I could not listen to the audio. So maybe Kruk and Kuip explained what the umpire ruled.

When Colvin ran into Tulowitzki, it appeared the umpire saw it and made a call. Why was Colvin not awarded third base? Was this discussed on the broadcast? Or does anyone know? When a runner is interfered with, he is awarded the next base. Why was Colvin not?

To make matters worse, Hawkins threw a wild pitch to the next batter, and instead of Colvin going from second to third, he would have scored. I know that you cant assume that everything would have worked out the same and Hawkins would have still bounced that pitch with Colvin on third, but still.

Anyone?

I wonder if romo is hurt? He's hung plenty of sliders in the past, but not like this.

Seems like tommy join is inevitable somewhere down the line when your main pitch is a slider as it is and has been for romo all these years. Haven't played baseball since I was like 14, but I always remember my coach telling us sliders are the worst pitch you can throw for your arm. Robb Nen had one of the most disgusting sliders of all time, but it ended up destroying his arm eventually.

They we're just as confused as you and I. No explanation. Just weird.

Honestly this is the breaking in period for the kind of flexibility the rules have been granted, what with the challenges and what not. Just awkward officiating.

Did see that play I was listening to KNBR at the time. Did Bochy go out and argue? If not I'm guessing its at the umpires call

I was baffled just like Kruk and Kuip. The umpires didn't seem to take time to discuss the call and it was glossed over like it was no big deal. I'm with you about the wild pitch, I was heated cause that was a big insurance run that would've made a huge difference.

I believe I heard the ump ruled that Colvin wasn't going to advance to 3rd. He was just taking an aggresive turn but wasn't going to try for 3rd.

Don't hold me to that, though.

One of the toughest losses of the early season last night. hopefully Cain gets off to a good start and keep the ball in the park. Pagan is in tonight and Posey is out.

100% correct. Dave Flemming clarified it.

Edit I guess Romo didn't make himself available to the media last night.

Sheeeesh Cain can't catch a break so far this season

He was starting to throw well before he cut his finger.

He was pitching pretty well this game and now this
