Nope. My boy is a UW alumni and he just told me it's between Pete Carroll and Kliff Kingsbury

Fisch interviewed and wants the UW job. They apparently have other targets they’re going to offer ahead of him. Kliff and Pete.

Is 72-year old Pete Carroll that hasn’t coached college football in over a decade a splash?

At anything past the surface level WOW at his name?

Getting Pete Carroll seems like a Herm Edwards 2.0 type of move that would blow up in the team's face, trying to win the press conference with a big name as opposed to getting the best coach.

Pete would walk into the job as one of the oldest coaches in the country and someone who hasn't coached at the college level in well over a decade. Is a man in his '70s going to want to grind on the recruiting trail? Does he have connections to build a good college staff?

Also, when he coached the landscape of college football was very different (no transfer portal or NIL).

To be fair Pete is actually a good coach, Herm was average at best. But yeah hiring a 72 year old coach does seem risky

Pete’s coaching tree is as big as Saban’s and a lot of those guys still revere him.

He’d be a splash hire in only two cities: LA and Seattle. That UW job is dreadful for the next couple of years though. Besides not having to move from his Seattle home, I can’t think of one appealing thing about it to Pete.

And yeah, Saban is gonna tell him how much this new NIL and transfer waiver landscape makes it much more exhausting for older control freak coaches.

I think the changing of all that stuff played a factor, but ran him off? Reggie just sounding dumb

He was a bad snap away from potentially playing for another natty, but he can’t handle the level playing field? Not to mention it’s about to be even easier to make the playoff going forward. Okay Reggie :lol

Reggie isn't dumb at all.

Saban has been talking about the changes and not liking them.

I won't say NIL is the only reason but it played a role.

The good thing about Saban leaving when he left is he didn’t let himself become a walking dead mascot on the sidelines like Bowden and Paterno did while slowly killing their programs because of their ineptness
