Need a PSG Champions League now.

Mbappe and Messi have to hash it out

Neymar won’t be around. He’ll fake an injury and just go to Brazil.

Is it during the day or in the middle of the night in the US?

It’s on Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 2:45 PM.

Best and most talented players in the world.

It’s like the World Cup but there are two games in each round. Home and Away.

The Final is always is on the weekend in May.

Just follow the Footy Thread - You’ll be updated regularly.

I started dabbling in the Futbol thread lightly last year. Watched the Champions League cause thats what everyone advised to do and that **** was LIT AF too. Definitely made my WC experience much more enjoyable seeing familiar faces and seeing teammates playing against each other.

I dont got a team, per se, just enjoy watching players. might not link myself to a team cause that **** is stressful:lol

I’m in California tho - watching was difficult at times when games would be right in the middle of the day cause its literally 11am on Tuesday/Wednesday. World Cup excuse dont work like that when you got meetings/work to do :lol

That was great. I’m a casual fan watched more futball this go around than i ever have. Even want to get out there play a little. Will stick with watching every 4 years though lol

Most Latinos are Mestizo(Indigenous/European mix).

True.

But Argentina is different.

Millions upon Millions of Europeans migrated during the 1900’s. Northern Italians, Spaniards, Germans, and some Eastern Europeans.

Much like early 1900’s migration in the U.S. - European migrants went to Argentina, and Southern Brazil in masses too.

More Italians went to Argentina than here in America. European decedents became the majority long ago.

The last name Messi for example - is an Italian name. He comes from Italian lineage.

Argentina & Italy are basically Sister Nations.

Italians will sometimes root for them because of the huge amount of Italian-Argentines. (And Maradona added to that too of course)

Are penalty shoot-outs frowned upon soccer fans? As exciting as this about to be, I wanna see them keeping it going.
I hear ya, but realistically, it's just not feasible. At some point, your players will get too exhausted (if they're not already after 120mins) that they won't want to push forward on fears of conceding a goal.
Playing to not lose. And while I enjoy the drama of a penalty shootout, I do agree that it's a cruel and sometimes unfair way to decide a game or tournament. There's definitely an element of luck involved as well, but this also comes down to the mental toughness of the guy taking the pen.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Golden Goal come back though.

What an insane game, had highs and lows and all the drama one could ask. The second Argentina goal was a thing of beauty, and Mbappe's second goal was class. So many emotions and even tears. The last shot France had, I have no idea how that didn't go in. I dreamt last night that Argentina was going to win, and told everyone I was watching with today before the game and most looked at me like I'm crazy, and the bantz started after France tied the game. When they went to penalties, I knew Mbappe would make his but that the rest of the team was questionable. What I will say, I called Tchouameni was going to miss, boy was scared and his eyes showed it. And most importantly, MESSI the absolute GOAT. Man's legit has won it all now and the excuse before was that he didn't have a World Cup. What a fitting end to the tournament that has been the end and what will ultimately immortalize Messi's career. I LOVE THIS GAME
