We still questioning whether Kawhi can D up?

The Mav’s window will be open for a bit…..

I disagree. I don't think they're window really opens until they can find a way to get off of KPs contract. Until then, I think they'll be a first (second round of they're lucky) exit team. I expect Luka to continue to dominate but there's only so much one player can do.

It's hard to build a championship roster if such a large percentage of your salary tab is tied into a mediocre player. Imagine how much better off the Mavericks would without Kristaps Porzingis and another $30m?

He had 46 pts 7 reb and 14 ast
Yep. And again, just like before, you turn a conversation about context with the Clippers into a Luka debate...as if I said something bad about him to begin with.

Luka was the best player in the series hands down.

Your ability to manufacture Luka arguments is fantastic and wack at the same time.

Did I just see that too?? I'm hoping that wasn't the case
The windows not open now. Maybe if Luka comes back in shape like Kobe and wins MVP (which is very possible) but the roster construction makes no sense.

wrong quote whatever

what's the issues with off the court? genuine question
Look up the stories of Dirk and Steve Nash partying nonstop when they were here together
If you're rich Dallas is probably the 4th best party city in the country
No way a disciplined fully locked in Luka doesn't finish the clippers after being up 2-0

interesting to see if Lue goes back to playing bev, rondo, and zu more. they at least have some bodies to throw at donovan to make him work

what's the status on serge?

Remember when the Clippers were down 0-2 headed to Dallas for game 3?

Then they won 4 of 5 including 3 on the road vs. "The next LeBron"

Keep the same "narrative energy"

Instead, the narrative will be "the Clippers barely got out of that series." "77 almost won that series by himself." And... "77 needs more help"

Fam that's what happened. The truth isn't a narrative

Given our history of free agents I truly believe KP is better than anything free agent we would have signed

The KP stuff is frustrating, and it’s probably not gonna work.

But I am curious how much the consolidated schedule impacted all of this for him. He was undoubtedly rushed back from that meniscus. JJJ looked horrendous after coming back and he sat an extra 4 months.

I’d guess he’s not back next year. we’ve seen older dudes with contracts as bad get moved, so it’s not impossible. Just hard to know what that market even looks like.

In what way is John Collins it? He’s exactly the type the Mavs would sign in FA though.

I like him as a piece but he ain’t the missing piece.

honestly don’t know what the move is in the short term with porzingis being an expensive trash bag

I might end up being wrong but I really don’t like Collins for big money. Would be a huge risk because he really hasn’t shown he’s that. I think the Hawks know it too and will let him go.

Clips were in the series despite some outlier shooting on both sides

They finally shot like themselves in game 7. They were overdue

All of those free agency misses pre-Luka though. I'd like to believe that playing a long Luka doncic it would be an attractive proposition.

As a Mavs fan, why do you think they've had such problems getting free agents? Is it the front office pitch? Is it Cuban? Do free agents not like the city of Dallas?
