The best defensive players usually come from SEC country, as good as resources as Texas has, they don't have the track record of a Bama, UGA, LSU, or UF for consistently putting guys in the league from that side of the ball nor are they going to outrecruit those guys on that side of the ball.

It’s exactly why A&M has almost completely abandoned recruiting defensive talent in the front end in Texas. They’re almost wholly national now in the front 7.

texas has a terrible track record, all things considered.. they’ve only won the big 12 3 times, 3

but just saying all the talent that comes out of texas and they should be able to set up a recruiting network to other hotbeds
