OFFICIAL 2020 STIMULUS CHECK THREAD

Man those code people came harassing me and my neighbor when were were putting up a privacy fence.

my neighbor asked if he was the feds and told him to hit the backwood to prove he wasn’t. He drove away.

f paying a tax to put up a fence on your property with materials you already paid taxes on.

I don’t mind an hoa if it’s chill. Like I got a spot in the black hills.

it snows like a mf there and the hoa is only 500 a year and it takes care of all road maintenance and we own the road so yeah... better than me buying a dozer and doing it myself. :lol

There is no rules other than don’t fill your yard with trash and animals. :lol

I know a few people who got their paper checks in the mail today, but that's because they live where the checks are being sent out so they got theirs faster. I'm assuming anyone waiting on the mailed checks will get theirs sometime this week depending where you are but they're definitely being sent out which is positive news.

you can reach out and ask to negotiate the amount or you can ask for proof that you made a mistake. If the mistake was on their end I'm pretty sure you can dispute the debt and possibly have it removed completely. But if they investigate and it's a mistake on your end they'll make you pay obviously. Knowing the IRS they'll tack on a 20% investigation fee
What if the employer made the mistake? Do they get any sort of penalty? I have a buddy who had some 1099-misc income with a mis spelled name and messed up Ssn that he didn't claim for 2018. Well the IRS in late 2020 spotted it and want their money including a total revising of his taxable income etc. But they don't require an amended form. Luckily I was able to recalculate what they vaguely showed proof of, and it's right.

Interest and penalities was 10% right off the bat

And he's screwed either way because if he claimed the income as his initially, they could claim he's filing for someone else.

Moral of the story. Force your employer to fix any issues asap.

Damn that was quick

Guessing mine and my girls will be coming in the mail and the worse part is we've moved since so we gotta try to coordinate w/ the current tenant.. what a headache

Good to hear they're already being delivered. Means I need to get on it

Stimbo The King! After a slight delay (angry thumbs at H&R Block/IRS)...

Some unemployment news, extra boost already being sent out, in these states so far. It also sure sounds like anyone getting strictly PUA or FPUC will get an additional 100.00 on top of PUA/FPUC plus the 300.00 boost. Good news for any independent contractors, if true.

Here are the states that have already begun issuing or processing the $300 weekly unemployment boost this week as of Tuesday morning:

  • Arizona
  • California (available only to those on regular state benefits or the Federal-State Extended Duration program)
  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Georgia
  • Idaho
  • Louisiana
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Minnesota
  • Mississippi
  • Nevada
  • New Hampshire
  • New York
  • North Carolina
  • Rhode Island
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • West Virginia
Workers in several states, including New York, California and Arizona, began receiving the federal enhancement Monday, while other states plan to issue the boost throughout the week.

You can check you're states here, https://www.unemploymentpua.com/articles/fpuctracker.html#fpuctable

Story per.

Still trying to figure out how they messed this up so badly. I know the first round wasn’t a complete success either , but this here...

Welp. Bad news if you had the “Status Unavailable”.
What's h&r charge? Crazy to see them not be seamless. They may have a lot of people going elsewhere. I use TT and had no issues with either checks.

I hope this thread bumps a lot of pages tonight or tomorrow for good reasons due to happenings in Georgia.

So I have to file my taxs electronically just to claim the credit? I go to an accountant that Ive filed with for years. This is ridiculous. Im hoping I still receive a check instead of having to do all that

Does your accountant file them by mail normally?
