7 footers with that type of skillset that actually hold up are hard to come by. 7 footers in general. It's amazing that Shaq, Robinson, Ewing and Hakeem being 7+ and perennial all-stars in the same era was a miracle of sorts.

I was looking at the games played stats for guys over 7’2”. Rik Smits, Yao and Manute all started out pretty well, missing no games or just a few games until about year 4 or 5. Then there was a big drop off for all of them. Shawn Bradley had problems from the jump - like KP - and had a lot of years in which he missed a lot of games.

Seems like bodies that tall just aren’t really built for the strain of an NBA season, at least not long term.

big guys just don't heal well from lower body injuries
just look at ming

durant one of the few exceptions. then again, his was a jones fracture on the foot and he wasn't carrying a lot of weight to begin with

The moment yall (not NT specifically) started giving nicknames, clout, attention to these nba reporters was the moment they turned on the thirst trap reporting.

not that yellow journalism is anything new butthese reporters and media personalities feel they are actually a part of the NBA and have control over the direction and play and storylines of this league, which in a way ,very well may be true!

the same way all these players care about brandIng and being a brand , these reporters are capitalizing on The age of social media and the power of twitter fingers .

i personally think it is not our business what was Specifically said in these private meetings.

I don’t think you can group all those guys together

ewing was a whole other beast when he was young, obviously still a great center but I think injuries got him

but those other guys were more built to be that big.. well I think Hakeem was more like 6’9-6’10.. but Robinson and shaq were just different

I've said it in the Knicks thread but Phil Jackson was right about most things during his tenure. He just went about it like an ***hole.

I have a theory about why that was - Phil Jackson is, in fact, an *******.

It helped him or at least didn’t get in his way as a coach, but being an executive is different.

Not until way later when his career was winding down. First 12 years in the league he was pretty much an iron man.

I wasn't trying to make a 1:1 comparison with KP, because obviously he has a more modern skillset and the game is smaller. But in general, 7 footers don't really have long careers. So having 4 hall of famers in the 90's was pretty remarkable. But yes the game was different.

I'm not worried about KP.

It happened when Zubac fell into his leg. That could happen to anyone.

If it was a non Contact injury maybe but I'm not worried.

nah man.. I think injuries got Ewing from early too.. obviously he was still very very good with the Knicks but he wasn’t quite the athlete as he was at Georgetown

but he‘s wasnt the same as the others guys.. shaq and Robinson were just rare as hell, lazIness was Shaw’s biggest issue

but most guys that big, all the running up down and jumping got them lumbering

I'm not old enough to have remembered his college days clearly, but off the top of my head I do remember him being much more athletic as a Hoya. If he was hurt as a Knick, he definitely adapted well and tailored his game because I never even knew until now he was injured during his prime. But again I was pretty young.

My friend's mom actually taught him at Cambridge Latin.

Shams twitter feed right now. Top free agent for sure 🔌 🔌

He should've sought out our President ELECT for his advice. Obummer knows nothing about being Black in America KHUFU KHUFU knows what I'm talking about. Our PRESIDENT ELECT has faced more criticism and persecution than anyone else and he is sympathetic to the cause but BLUE LIVES MATTER. I wish Luka and Kawhi could've been more vocal to give the Conservative perspective.

Yeah, he would have had to face LESS corruption if he would have approached the very stable genius, instead of the guy not born in the US of A.

When this is all said and done, LeBron James will be looked upon far more favorably than any other athlete, outside of Muhammad Ali.

Book it.

Uhhh Barack, how should I handle this.......

Bron cappin, he was gonna finish out this bubble no matter what.

This the same dude who wore a hand cast in the post game interview after losing in the Finals. Cmon son.

obviously dude wasn’t just an athletic dude out there.. but remembered listening to it somewhere and obviously knew he was damn good with the hoyas

but kinda like Tim Duncan, where they he a ton of skill but you could see how leg injuries changed them as athletes

but yea dude in clips definitely has more bounce and runs significantly better.. Larry Johnson was in that group too
