I don’t think LSU should be up there to start, they lost the reason they won that title.

Doesn’t Texas AM have a favorable schedule this year?

Very favorable schedule
This is always been one of the interesting parts about preseason rankings: do you go with the power ranking route, and rank who you think the best teams are regardless of schedule, or do you rank the teams who you think will be there at the end of the season?

Everyone knows that Texas A&M isn't the fifth best team in the country but when you look at their schedule you can clearly see a path for them to be 10-2 or better. Same thing with Oklahoma, they likely aren't a top 10 team but they're fortunate to play in an easy conference and have a favorable schedule.

I think you gotta factor in what they have returning and schedule and try to find a balance. Then there’s always the team that completely flops even with a bunch of returning talent and a decent schedule.

I think most of the time the top 10 is going to basically be the same every season to start minus a couple teams here and there

Michigan, Wisconsin, and Penn State are typically top 15 teams but besides them and tOSU it’s pretty bad. I’ll wait to add Minnesota to that group to see if they can sustain their success from last year.
