2. Is to every awful team we face.
3. Is to two-three awful teams every year that we let hang around for no reason
4. Is to every slightly above .500 but not great team we face

When’s the last time you heard about USC gradually getting a lead and pulling away from a team and playing a complete game on all fronts? Twice this year? Stanford and California? Maybe Arizona? 0 times last year? Two times in 2017 when they won the conference?
