I’m generalizing but teams in the ‘90s liked to walk the ball up and throw it to their big lumbering centers in the post and go from there. Jordan was fortunate in the sense that pace was very fast when he came into the league and stayed fast during his athletic prime, then slowed to a crawl as he aged, bottoming out in the late ‘90s/early ‘00s, then began to speed up again after the rule changes in ‘04. So it lined up perfectly for him.

Now that you mention it, I definitely don't think that's a coincidence. Just like I don't think these new rules are a coincidence as Bron approaches KAJ's scoring record. Breaking records is good for business

Yeah all that money they gave you, and in return you did absolutely nothing notable for the franchise.

He only did this to teach his wife a lesson

While I love Pat’s grit and swagger, he’s been a liability more this season than he’s been an asset. His offense has been horrendous and even his defense hasn’t been great because he’s has a hard time not fouling. Unless he seriously picks it up, I won’t object to him being moved.

Well he's probably not a starting point guard on a team that doesn't have a Blake griffin level talent, let alone a James Harden one. So you really see his faults shine because he's now forced to try and make plays individually due to no one else being able to draw 2 and get a double team going and as a result he looks terrible.

He's like Derek Fisher which is fine, if you have a Kobe / James Harden to pair him with.Tobias Harris and Avery Bradley? Not so much.

I suspect stars from previous eras would have different wrinkles if they had grew up with today's generation

MJ would've relied more on the 3

I can see Olajuwon having a 3 point shot. Maybe he would've even been a ballhandler.

Ewing was already a jump shooting center. He would've had no problem extending his range.

Shaq was a good ballhandler but never showed it cuz he didn't need to.

*edit

Actually youtubed Shaq + fast break and this came up. He would've been doing this much more frequently in today's nba with bigs having the green light to be more like perimeter players.

I was just about to say like, LBJ got caught plenty of times sliding into DM's, allegedly got that news anchor in Cleveland preggers, loves latinas, etc. lol #NtTmz

MJ and Bean could average 40 with the increased pace and possessions. They'd both have no problem shooting 30+ shots a game.

Freedom of movement and the general lack of defense especially this season yeah. Easily.

Mark Jackson going to finally get his big break again. He just happens to be repped by Rich Paul. LeGM playing 4D chess already.

MJ would go for a bunch cause like harden today, he would go to the line anytime someone breathed on'em going to the paint...

*meant to be a dig on today's game and officiating

Y’all funny but there’s only room for 3 max contracts.

LBJ is one.

The Lakers have room to sign another one this offseason (whether it’s KD, Leonard, Butler/Klay/Kemba.... whoever)

And they have the ammo to trade for Unibrow when he eventually demands a trade.

Keep bringing up the jokes tho!
I remember when y’all thought LBJ would never happen.

You still don’t get that Kobe isn’t playing 41-42 minutes a game today like he did in his high-scoring seasons. This is the same faulty logic that led you to believe Kyrie was gonna take 24 shots a game last year.

Said it before, but Boston has enough assets to trump anything that LA can offer for AD. To my knowledge, the Lakers don't have any picks other their own to give out. Maybe they'll finish bottom 5 this year though and that would be a good one.
