In all seriousness, as much as we don't wanna go down the rabbit hole, its better than the usual Bron this Bron that nonsense

People ***** and moan but don't have anything better to talk about. If yall want better topics, come up with better topics

Older guys was there any backlash around Shaq getting put into the 50 Greatest Players Ever list which was basically just a prediction call?

I don't even remember there being much backlash around calling a 17 year old kid The Chosen One and basically saying he was guaranteed to be the second best ever and no one ever backed off it.

Shaq actually played in the league for 4-5 years making a huge impact.

Lebron was way more skilled of a player than Zion.

I been a fan of Zion for years now but people need to relax and let him develop, this is what they do. Hype somebody up then kill him when they don't meet the crazy expectations you set. We saw this same **** with Trae Young last year. :lol

NBA ratings are down 26 percent year-over-year on TNT, six percent on ESPN, and LeBron’s move west is a big reason why
NBA viewership is down 26% on TNT and 6% on ESPN one month into the season. Much of the sharp decline can be attributed to LeBron James’ move to the Western Conference, which has hit viewership for the early-window primetime NBA telecasts particularly hard so far. TNT is averaging 1.79 million viewers after 12 game telecasts, the net’s slowest start to a season in at least a decade.

…For TNT’s early windows this season to date, the net is averaging 1.61 million viewers compared to 2.75 million viewers at the same point last season (zero James games this year vs. two in ’17). But the late windows, which feature more prominent Western Conference teams, are seeing a less-pronounced drop, with two Lakers games to date. Meanwhile, ESPN is down 6% overall after 18 telecasts, averaging 1.69 million viewers compared to 1.79 million. But the net is up compared to the same time frame two years ago (1.61 million viewers for 14 games) … Similar to TNT, ESPN’s early window is seeing a drop (-16%), as there were three Cavaliers/James games at this point last year compared to zero Lakers/James games in the early window so far this season

Zion to an east team confirmed.

The league needs that transcendent player, and it has not had that sort of player since Jordan retired. LeBron is that guy. It is pretty much proven. People tune in when LeBron was playing. He is interesting, he pushes the narrative. Kobe never did that, nor Shaq. Timmy D as good as he was, was too boring. LeBron took the baton and ran with it.

I do not know if Zion has that personality. Great athlete, but does he have the audacity to put himself out there to perform?

When’s the last time you hooped? Are you getting washed yet?

Bro . I was doing 4 miles a day getting back in shape before I went outta town. Gonna start knocking the rust off and running some games..on the westside of town, if you sniff my drift. Ran a couple games of 3s a few weeks ago for the first time in a minute. Went home and passed out for 2 hours

Hoopmixtape should be ready to drop just in time for the playoffs

Last summer I played in a corporate challenge. My team was ok but I’m clearly the only one that hoops more than a few times a week. I was the only one that could dribble so my usage was off the charts plus the other teams were picking me up full court.

Needless to say i took a month off :lol

LeBron's playoff and championship teams have the highest television rating since Micheal Jordan. The largest dip in viewership was when the Spurs and the Shaq and Kobe led Lakers were in the playoffs. Kobe Bryant led teams didn't increase viewership at any point, at all.

The NBA is about to be hit with another dip this year.
I'll agree with you, however, Lebron is the Mayweather of basketball. A some people watch him to see him succeed but a lot more watch him to see him fail.

So is understandable why the raitings are so high when he's in the finals.

Either way is a win win for the NBA.

I'm signing up for a work league and the summer season opens. I played as a sub cause they needed a body on Monday and had mad fun and it'll be an excuse to play when I wouldn't have much opportunity to Monday through Friday usually.

The games start super late which is the only issue. Monday our game was at 10:00 P.M...

I do not disagree that LeBron has his detractors, as did Jordan. Knick, Detroit and Cavs fans hated him. But it would be hard to measure who that is exactly. Well, there are the basket of deplorables. There is no poll to suggest who loves or hates him. His shoes sell, and his jersey does as well. Because they are paying attention, the league wins and the players win as well.

Lebron generates more interest than any player, period. This thread loves talking about Lebron day in and out, from his stans to his haters. The media has damn near lived off of Lebron for a decade.

Of course the ratings are gonna drop w/o him and the NBA definitely cares. They been on a high the last few years, got some of ya'll talking about "The NBA might pass the NFL" :lol. Lebron is a major part of that whether you like it or not.

I had to get out of the last work league. We were getting smacked and dudes were coming to the games hungover. I’m too old and too competitive for that, especially since it was a competitive division

My stats were empty according to NT

He is a power broker in the league. He has earned that voice, because he put himself out there. The NBA is LeBron's league right now. He comes back next year, does something special, it will be a huge ratings boost. People who were tired of seeing LeBron in the finals every year, will welcome him back for his swan song. The narrative will be golden. MJ had the same effect. People hating him winning so much, but missed him once he left. Excellence tends to do that.

Ratings are absolutely going to dip sans LeBron.

But who cares. The basketball on a whole is better now than it's been in several years.

Come on man ...

The NBA and TNT have been pushing Lebron down everyone's throat for how many years? They haven't done a good job in building other superstars in the east. Every major superstar the casual fan want to see is out west (Curry, KD, Harden, etc). So is only normal when Lebron leaves the east where the games start at 8pm and there's no other hyped player to replace him.

Is no a suprise why most of these analysts are passing over KD to Freak for best in the World. Is all media driving.

If you dont share my views, is cool, but I'm certain that's the case.

Because of LeBron, there were no other superstars in the east. He dominated. Just like Jordan, you had to think hard as to who was the second best player in the east. Without google, you still can't do it today.

How are you measuring this?
How can you not?
How are we always talking about Lebron, some positively and others negatively?
How everytime he loses you have the media with two opposite panels, some for and others for not?

Is like Mayweather, he has the biggest numbers but you always hear the entire population hating on him, so how he generates numbers? People want to see him failed.

Theres not barometer to measure this, but to say that's not a reason would be naive ImO.

Who's arguing with that, you asked a question that I thought it was self explanatory. He was the only marketed star in the east, there was no transitioning, this when he left, there's a void. Hence the dip.

If the warriors would be in the east, or another marketed superstar was in the east, that dip wouldnt be as noticeable, of at all.

I understand what you are trying to say, controversy sells, right? That I agree with. However, jersey sales tend to prove that he is not as hated as you may think.
