I'll never understand why the Pac 12 owning 100% of it's own network is a good idea.

We all agree that time to make money off these networks is now right? In less than probably 15 years, grandmothers in Bergen County won't be paying cable fees to the B1GN anymore. These massive TV revenues the B1G and SEC are bringing in are not sustainable.

lol the time may have been 5-10 years ago. I haven’t paid a cable bill since Time Warner jerked me in 2010 by charging me $250 for a free showtime and Cinemax promotion.

No person with an internet plan and even a slightly working knowledge of google and reddit should have to pay money to watch a nationally broadcast sporting event.

True story. Although for ease, I will use PS Vue during the CFB season. Like you said, there really is no sense in paying for cable, at least for sports. Especially since I have usernames and passwords of friend’s accounts.

My TV hibernates after football season. I may turn it on to watch Netflix when I’m bored like once every other month. Regardless, I feel the need to buy a large TV for those moments when it does come on; go figure.

You're still the exception though no? Most gen X and boomers haven't cut the cord, and the latter probably never will.

Let's assume that the future is that most us will be paying for an app of some kind to watch sports, that's going to be an expensive undertaking for network that isn't making any money right now and whose brand is trash. The B1G and SEC while raking in the $$$ right now because they did the smart thing and let FOX and ESPN own a significant share of their network, aren't going to have to deal with any of that drama because they will just be bundled in whenever ESPN/Disney and FOX decide to go the app route.

What present or future advantages does the PAC 12 have in owning 100% of it's network? Because I don't see any.

How is Texas hosting Kelee Ringo on a weeklong visit without his parents right now? Isn’t it too soon for officials?

According to Texas 247 his mom didn’t make the trip and he’s been on campus by himself all week.

A guy who is connected to him says he's out there with Uncles and cousins. I saw EJ's report too, but I tend to trust this guy more than him.

what am i missing? What does his mom have to do with him being at UT?

He’s either on a week long official visit or on an unofficial visit and possibly (likely) staying on campus on UT’s dime. There was a comment by EJ Holland about him not having a return ticket yet so there’s no end date for the visit but it not being a big deal since he has unlimited air miles and can travel whenever, implying his mom covered the trip, but making it sound like an unofficial visit.

I’m basically asking if it’s an official how is he allowed to spend the entire week? And if it’s unofficial why have the reports coming out made it sound like he’s staying in and utilizing UTs facilities? I’m not insinuating impropriety I’m more so asking for clarification on visit rules.

Ok that makes more sense. Otherwise Texas is openly giving improper benefits to a recruit no?

gotcha. That kid is having the time of his life for sure

That kid rolls deep. At the Adidas 3 stripe camp here a few weeks ago, he must have had 20 people with him. Family types.

Nah, I doubt they're housing him. His mom works for the airlines so he flies free. You can visit campus as much as you want to. As long as they aren't treating it like an official then there's nothing wrong.
